Hello all,
Is there a way to get an old AMD HD6450 fully recognised under MacOs Catalina ? "About my Mac" shows the correct card but with only 5Mb.
I tried both KextUtilities and KextBeast to copy the 6000.Kext to S/L/E without success (cannot copy source file).
Any idea ?
Thanks
Well, thanks anyway for the tips.
For the upgrade, I looked here (Europe) and each processor is around 170-200 Euros. Which is way too expensive for now.
Best !
OK, done it all. Nevertheless, still no verbose output, black screen and reboot still there. Let me grab High Sierra from the App Store.
I will be back...
Pavo,
Thanks for the new EFI. I replaced mine with this one. But unfortunately, no change at reboot. After selecting the Install drive, the screen stays lit for a while but is full dark, no verbose. And then reboots.
Any change in BIOS that i should try ?
Best
@Pavo: Many thanks for the answer. Xeon is E5-2670 Sandy bridge. I would love to get V2 but $$$ are missing.
I try to install El Capitan but if you have a solution to make that work under Mojave, that would be paradise.
Please find my entire EFI in attachment. Thanks again !!
Restarted whole process from scratch using el Capitan, Clover 4674 and attached Config.plist. I have also a specific DSDT also attached.
Issue now is the famous black screen, immediately after selecting the boot drive on Clover. I searched through all the solutions but still no luck and this...
Boot went a bit farther this time. Please attached screenshot. I still have a KP. Maybe someone may know how to go past it ?
Is there something to do with the processors config ?
Thanks !
Hey BreBo
Thanks for the tip, but nope, no success. Tried many things but no luck so far. Still the same reboot issue.
And I cannot use Unibeast as it does not support Virtual Machines.
Any other possibility to make it to the installer ?
Thanks
Hi all,
All was fine on 10.12.4. I made a nice backup, and tried to upgrade to 10.12.5.
- Download OK
- Install OK
But after reboot, start loading and then.... switch off alone.
I booted from the back-up, and disk-utility says that the updated disk is corrupted and cannot be repaired.
So...

Configure your Bios in Raid Mode. On DC 7800, this implies AHCI mode
10.11 runs perfectly on this oldie.
