That's the thing – there was a USB 3 device plugged in when I dumped that ioreg file. I'm assuming it has a lot to to with the repeated 'AppleUSB30XHCIPort::resetAndCreateDevice: failed to create device after (1) tries, disabling port' system.log entries, but I'm not sure where I'd start to...

I've attached both. The port-status for SSP1@14f00000 seemed to initially oscillate between 0, 0x1400, and 0xc00. At least once, it's actually managed to connect at USB 3 speeds after several minutes, but I didn't get an ioreg dump for that.

I've given the windows simulation SSDT a go, with no luck. I tried Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10, all with both Auto and Smart Auto set in the BIOS, but no dice. That doesn't seem to help. I've removed the USB port limit patch, since I still get SSP1 without it, which should be enough for...
