I wanted to follow-up on this thread in case anyone stumbles upon it in the future. I was plugging my drives into a Rosewill USB 3.0 PCI card. I replaced it with the card this website recommends. Problem solved!

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried this and it did not work. I think it has something to do with SoftRAID. I took a video of the occurrence: https://photos.app.goo.gl/6Ci8P3zAa5qkM5ki9. I have posted on the SoftRAID support forum as well and will update this thread with any solutions from them.
