Windforce R9 290x- Low FPS on gaming

If I were to guess, I'd say you were encountering CPU bottlenecks with a CPU from 2010, but even an old Xeon should handle LoL. I have my doubts it's the R9 290 unless there's something wrong with it. That's more than enough for LoL. How long are these frame drops? How frequent are they? Do...

    Best GFX Card for Gaming

A GTX 1080 should be enough to power Ultra on most AAA titles at 1440p high refresh rate. If you want to go 4K, I'd recommend the 1080Ti. G-Sync does work with macOS, though it's limited to High Sierra since the Nvidia web drivers for Mojave are not out yet. It really depends on your budget...

Getting Bluetooth but no WiFi with Fenvi FV8801

I know this is thread is a bit stale, but I wanted to post an answer for those who came across this searching like I did. I got the same card (Fenvi FV8801) for my Windows machine because it was a great deal (2-in-1!). Well after a LOT of searching, it looks like this card does not work on...

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

I DID IT! After backing up all my files, I did a full wipe of the HD and went through the installation process again. I guess the EFI partition was just corrupted. I was able to boot to Clover no USB. Thank you for your help, everyone.

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

Which disk? I repaired the Mac OS and it said that there were no problems. I can't repair EFI because it doesn't show up in Disk Utility. I've tried terminal commands to enable developer mode to get Disk Utility to show hidden partitions (like EFI), but El Capitan changed Disk Utility...

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

Yeah, sure. I just cut off the USB's partitions: It's possible to wipe the whole drive, but I'd like to avoid it because it would require a lot of file transfers and temporary backing up.

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

Alright, tried that and I got this: Started erase on disk0s1Unmounting disk Error: -5344: MediaKit reports not enough space on device for requested operation Which makes no sense, because it's 209.7MB

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

Well, now I think I need to reinstall OS X, because now my disk looks like this: Notice that EFI is now renamed to Microsoft Basic Data, and I cannot rename it. Also, when I install Clover again, it opens up some other EFI volume that doesn't show up in Disk Utility. I also cannot edit the...

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

That's a great idea... but I not sure how. It doesn't show up in Disk Utility.

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

Tried that, no result. That's the install log for UEFI Boot. It's just saving as backup on /Volumes/Mac OS It seems that I have the same problem as this thread, but all he did was reinstall clover, and that clearly isn't working for me.

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

I definitely did that step multiple times, however this time I payed closer attention. It populated the EFI partition, but when I restart it doesn't show as a bootable partition. When I use the USB to boot, the EFI partition is empty again. Somehow the EFI partition is getting erased upon...

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

Update! So, when I typed "diskutil list" into the Terminal, I got this: I also pulled up the EFI partition listed as disk0s1 and it was empty as far as I could tell.

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

I have secure boot turned off and set to "Other OS". I tried UEFI mode only, and I get the same result. I've also tried to boot from every drive on the list, and they all just take me back to the BIOS. That list is simply the boot order, so if the MOBO can't boot from the first on the list...

El Capitan Installed Properly, but I can't boot without the USB.

As the title says, I was able to (clean) install OS X 10.11 from a bootable 32GB USB thumb drive using Unibeast 6.0. However, after following the Post-Installation instructions covered in this guide, I still cannot get my computer to booth to the Mac OS without the help of the USB thumb drive...

[SOLVED] Upgrading from Snow Leopard 10.6 to 10.6.8

Upgrading from Snow Leopard 10.6 to 10.6.8 SOLVED! Well... kinda... I won't really call this a solution because it's more of a workaround. I was able to use a friend's computer to create a bootable USB of Yosemite and skipped SL altogether. I had some other issues there, but they were solved...
