Windforce R9 290x- Low FPS on gaming

Hi guys

Need help on this one.

I installed a Gigabyte windforce R9 290x 4gb into my an Old Mac Pro 2010 5,1
it just works fine, my problem is when im playing League of Legends im having an FPS drop like 25fps, my maximum is 60
and jsut dont how to make it better to think that i have upgraded the GPU into a better one.

Is there any driver in need to install?
DO i need to the processors?

If I were to guess, I'd say you were encountering CPU bottlenecks with a CPU from 2010, but even an old Xeon should handle LoL. I have my doubts it's the R9 290 unless there's something wrong with it. That's more than enough for LoL.

How long are these frame drops? How frequent are they? Do they coincide with any in-game actions?

Have you played with Activity Monitor open? What does your memory/CPU activity look like? Is anything maxed out when you drop frames? Any other programs open? What do your temperatures look like while gaming?
