    HP EliteDesk 800 G2 / HP ProDesk 600 G2 - SUCCESS

Thanks so much for this info. The POST error was the only thing that I minded about my OpenCore installation on my 800 G2 mini. I added this to boot args and now I can reboot without problems.

[Guide] HP Elite 8300 & 6300 Pro (all form factors) using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Just a quick note to say thanks for the excellent guide. I'm just getting back into Hackintoshing after quite a while away. It took about 40 minutes from the time I found this guide to have my 8300/i7 up and running with Mojave. It is good to be back.

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

So... I still have my Acronis account. The last version I paid for was 2010, but it is offering me an upgrade to 2020 for $29.99. Not bad. I'll definitely take it into account when looking at bare-metal backup/restore options for my machines now.

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

@trs96 Interesting about Acronis support for Mac. I am no longer dual booting with Windows - and have never used TimeMachine for my Macs... my backup solutions run to CCC and automated file backups (I used to use Arq, but have recently switched to Duplicacy). I always view rebuild of a machine...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

Hi folks... long time no see here. Unfortunately in May 2018 we had a house fire and I was away from the Hackintosh scene for over a year while we rebuilt the house and moved back home. Finally in the last week or two I have been able to get back to my Hackintosh hobby and last night rebuilt...

[Guide] HP 6300 Pro / HP 8300 Elite - A 100 percent Working and Easily Affordable CustoMac

Hi folks... long time no see. Short version... we had a house fire on May 25th (mostly smoke, but we're out of our house for about a year because of the rebuild). I just got my Hackintosh equipment back from the restoration company and am looking for some advice. My main computers were far...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

Hmm... can you upload your eficlone log file? I'll be glad to take a look. As for CCC not copying everything, there are certain classes of data that it does not copy. Details are found at this URL...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

If you are running the script in test mode, that would mean the file hashes would remain different after the file copy. It is a good callout and I'll add an issue to my backlog to update the logging and indicate that this condition is because the script is running in test mode.

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

I can't say for certain as I have not performed this scenario either. I have not used APFS with CCC or my clone script myself yet. From what I know of what goes on with APFS, though, it does NOT appear to affect the EFI partition at all. The EFI partition and any other non-apple partitions (my...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

You only need one "visible" partition as you format it with macOS Disk Utility... the EFI partition is a part of the GPT partitioning scheme and it will be created automatically. The macOS GUI tools do not generally show it to you, but it will be there. You can confirm its presence by opening a...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

My script - when used as the post-clone script in CCC - is designed to automate exactly those steps that are outlined in the post that you quoted. What the EFIClone script does is mount the EFI partitions from both the source and destination drives at the same time - taking a lot of care to...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

Ahh... very good call. I will create an issue and update the script tonight to create the EFICurrent folder if it does not exist. Exactly the kind of error that I was thinking of in my previous post - something I missed on the dev machine. Glad it is working for you.

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

I'll take a look at the log tonight and let you know. As far as I am aware you are the first person (other than me) to give that script a try... there may be some additional steps necessary for correct installation/config that I didn't capture since I am running on the same machine I developed...

Script to Backup EFI volume - EFI Mounter

I had not seen this thread before, and last month created my own script for doing basically the same thing. This script is an add-on for CCC or SuperDuper! that will run after the clone job from either of those utilities to automatically clone the EFI partition associated with the source drive...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

I've added a new script that will function to take an automatic snapshot of your latest working EFI partition configuration after each successful boot of your hackintosh. This script does the following: At each boot, it mounts the EFI partition on the physical disk that is the same where your...

[Guide] HP 6300 Pro / HP 8300 Elite - A 100 percent Working and Easily Affordable CustoMac

Just had to come post a small update. My server has been humming along since I migrated everything over to my i7 8300 SFF. Because it is a desktop/server machine, I never have investigated Wifi for it. I don't have a real need or desire for continuity or handoff between this machine and my iOS...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

Updated to 0.1beta3 Two significant changes: -Added detection of the EFI partition that was used to boot the current session of the mac and prevent the script from modifying data if that matches the destination EFI partition that was calculated. I will not delete or modify the current boot EFI...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

It is definitely not an option for everybody so I think that one will be a separate script to archive your working EFI partition as a scheduled task. Just to clarify, though, the idea I have for that one is that it will create an automated backup of the current startup EFI partition to a folder...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

Just a quick note here - mostly to remind myself - I have found the way to determine with 100% certainty which EFI partition was used to boot the machine for the current session (not just which macOS partition has is the active boot volume)... bdmesg displays the Clover bootleg and the UUID of...

EFIClone - automatic backup of the EFI partition

Yeah, I already have a checksum routine running for the main backup - I'll have to play with it and see the pros and cons of the checksum vs. rsync. I think rsync dry-run will be cleaner, but we'll see
