I have nice setup with my HP EliteBook 850 G5 and latest OpenCore. Everything works well expect no that nice battery life.
I can get around half time of Windows battery life. I went tru all Open Core guides including USB mapping. I don't know what is wrong. Here is my setup -...
Very strange. I have the same BIOS but for 850 G5 and everything works like a charm. But I don't have any other OS.
Today i push new commit for better APCI fix of this issue (https://github.com/kecinzer/hpelitebook850g5-opencore/commit/65338feaa5d3cd005f8ba19ecc5250816d44d776). May be you can...
When you latest BIOS was released? Thats weird.
What do you mean that you can't boot? You can see OC bootmenu normaly, but it wont boot with some error?
I have 850 G5 with latest BIOS 01.12.00 and can boot into Big Sur without problem.
Do you have this patch? https://github.com/kecinzer/hpelitebook850g5-opencore/blob/master/EFI/OC/config.plist#L76
Yes, I started with Rehabman works and then completly transform to OpenCore and it's guides. Here is my github repo - https://github.com/kecinzer/hpelitebook850g5-opencore.
As you have 840 G3, I think you have well supported system. You will only need DSL for your battery, that you can grab from...
Thank you. I already did upgrade with prepared installation USB. I prepare my OpenCore config and everything works like a charm.
Now I have only problem with rtc-blacklist, but it's not related to this.
@revans Did you make clean install or upgrade from 10.15? I just reading Dortania instructions and there is mention, that I need to do fresh install...
Wi-fi with Fenvi BCM94360NG M.2 card works out of the box like on real MacBook. I can recommend this card.
As I mentioned in repo, I use always latest (not beta) version of macOS. Currently 10.15.5 (19F101).
My touchpad works like a charm with XOSI SSDT.
It doesn't work with the other method, that I tried, so I go back to XOSI method.
BTW. this method usually need few restart to start working.
It's very easy. You need only rename _OSI to XOSI and then use this SSDT - https://github.com/kecinzer/hpelitebook850g5-opencore/blob/master/SSDT/SSDT-XOSI.dsl
It simply emulates Windows 10.
What instruction? I followed this instruction exactly - https://dortania.github.io/Getting-Started-With-ACPI/Laptops/trackpad-methods/manual.html after it not working, I start experimenting with additional variables. But pure version of this guide not working also.
I just did test with IOReg...
It's strange.
I just tested boot without variable preset and IOREG show same result for GPI0.
So I thing, I need additional patch, not just SSDT-GPI0 one.
Ok, I will tomorrow as I have my laptop in the office. Thanks.
But content of SSDT-GPI0 is mentioned below. Its simply preset variables GPEN and SBRG to one.
