Hi nobodynose and dr.macinstein.
I totally forgot about this thread. Thank you for your answers.
After reaching a kind of dead end I started a different approach. I played around with the SMBIOS of the iMacs and the benchmarks were even better than my default MacPro3,1 setup.
So now...
@ RehabMan
You are my hero!
Changing the names to EH01, EH02, XOSI, setting the port limit to 20 and installing the USBInjectAll.kext solved my problem.
Thanks a lot!
I guess it's safe to install the Security Update - no drawbacks so far. ALC1150 needed an update as always though.
This link worked for me.

Hi Yosemite Users.
I would just warn you not to install the Security Update 2016-001 yet. It will change the build number to 14F1605 and NVIDIA hasn't released the appropriate driver yet.
I use a pair of 250 GB SSDs on my Windows distribution as a stripesetvolume in RAID 0 because I would rather have 1 big partition instead of 2 little ones. I do my backups so RAID 0 isn't an issue here. Even if I loose them permanently it wouldn't be a problem.
What really bothers me is that I...
This is the method I used to install Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.
Let's start with the BIOS.
Begin with Load Optimized Defaults in the section EXIT.
VT-d disabled is in the section Advanced\System Agent Configuration\
After that press F10 for Save and Exit --> OK.
I don't think I had to...
Hey ironguitar.
I would try to install some kind of windows distribution first. You don't have to enter a key - a test version would be fine.
So we can be absolutely sure that the error is software and not hardware. What BIOS version is on your board currently installed? It would be helpful...
Is there a working build with a 1151 Broadwell and DDR4 RAM so far? I only read about working Broadwell NUCs but nothing about desktop builds. Maybe you know more than I do.
I was in a similar situation not so long ago - MacBook Pro 15" 2010.
Your build looks quite similar to mine so I guess you won't have much trouble building it. You can look it up in my profile.
MBO and CPU are top-notch and with the right cooler you have a lot of room for overclocking if...
Post OS X Yosemite Cinebench CPU and Graphics Benchmarks
The new NVIDIA Web Driver 346.02.02.f03 improved my graphics performance with my Maxwell graphics card (GTX 970) slightly.
Great news, everyone! (The slime is flowing again. - just a suitable little WoW quote :D)
Apparently the NVIDIA Web Driver 346.02.02.f03 finally fixes the screen glitches - at least with my GTX 970. :headbang:
Furthermore the guys at Nvidia improved the graphics performance slightly.
Here the...
Hi.
I would recommend booting with -v and posting a screen.
The apple boot screen is just pretty to watch. Apart from that it's rather useless for troubleshooting.

Hi.
Are you using the Chimera bootloader? What graphics card do you use?
If you're using Chimera, boot with the "-v" parameter and post a picture of your screen.
Greetings
