Hi, I’m trying to install Catalina to a new laptop. I made a usb drive using UniBeast following the guide but it’s getting stuck on boot. Verbose is attached. Could someone please take a look at it? Thanks

I wanted to give it a try (since I figured I don’t have anything to lose..) but disk utility on my (hfs+) usb drive doesn’t detect my apfs partition.

Do I have to do a fresh install or can I install Mojave ‘on top of’ my existing (corrupt) apfs partition, to keep my data? (Don’t have a backup)

Ok, updated clover (still same results) but preboot.log isn't empty anymore.

Which files do you need? I attached the Clover folder some posts ago and haven’t changed it yet. Preboot.log stays empty even after pressing F2.. (or fn+F2)

I got my partition to show up in clover by downloading and copying apfs.efi file from a thread by Tonymacx86 to clover/drivers64uefi. It booted to a prohibition sign. The verbose boot looks pretty weird.. (uploaded to YouTube because file was too big)

This time I'm sure I pressed the F2 key (without fn, I checked with F1), but the file is still empty.. So I suppose there's something wrong with my clover install?

It's probably a better idea to install clover to somewhere and extract the file from there, but I'm pretty sure my partition is APFS so I won't do it right now.

I edited my post but didn't change the attached zip archive (just corrected small typo). Pretty sure I pressed it, I'll try it again. I'll download and add it just to make sure but it's APFS if I remember correctly. What do you mean by this?

Yea but I can’t boot macOS. Booted into gparted now and trying to copy the files to a usb drive.

I'm getting "Error 0x80070570: file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." while copying my CLOVER folder on all the aml files in CLOVER/ACPI/origin. Does this have anything to do with Windows? I'll try looking for another way to copy them over.
