How do you know this and is there a workaround to use the 3.1 Gen 2 port type A (The Red one in the rear) with regular 3.0 or 2.0 devices? Based on my testing during port discovery, it seems that port will only work with 3.1 Gen2 devices. However, the Gigabyte Motherboard manual says it's...
Is this accurate? I noticed after initially booting from the USB , after the first reboot the internal disk already appears with a logo "Install from MacOS" why is Step 11 suggesting to boot from USB as opposed to Internal Install from MacOS?
Problem: 1 out of 3 times, when waking from sleep I will experience the following two issues:
1. Computer reboots
2. USB keyboard doesn't work and requires unplugging replugging to get it to work.
Running High Sierra, 10.13.6. Profile 18,3. I've had issues with others 17,1 and 14,2 as well...
I have the same issue. Specifically, my Steinberg UR22 mkII dac stops working after waking from sleep. The DAC was working fine in Yosemite. I also have issues with the machine taking minutes to actually boot (MAC progress bar just loads slowly).
Has her anyone actually tested on Windows OS to see if they can reproduce the issue? Sounds very much like hackintosh issue as sleep tends to be one a common problem since I can remember.
Unfortunately, this did not work for me. I reset CMOS, did not disable the Serial/Parallel ports and still have the issue of fans running at high speed when waking from sleep.
Thanks RehabMan. I did see that in some threads where folks posted their builds and instructions, but I also noticed they listed it as if they did it.
Either way, I managed to get the script going last night (even though I don't need it). For some reason, it seems I had downloaded an older...
I got the script to execute. For some reason, I am not able to execute it from my user/library directory. I just executed from my directory where I downloaded and unzipped.
Anyway, I now see this error
System information: Mac OS X 10.13.4 (17E202)
Brandstring: "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @...

Any thoughts?
pastrychef: I didn't have iMac18,1, only 18,2 and 17,1. I selected 17,1 and that worked! Video flickering is gone.
Also, I was able to verify the CPU model via terminal:
$ sysctl -n machdep.cpu.brand_string
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz
I tried to modify the...
I successfully installed High Sierra following the guide on this site. However, I have two issues noticed thus far:
1. My video is flickering and I'm getting ghosting on windows (windows appear that are minimized intermittently).
2. CPU is showing 3.7Ghz but not displaying any other info in...
I have all my parts, except for the gpu, which I plan on getting in the next couple of weeks (Nvidia gtx 750 ti). In the interim, I would like to complete the initial build using the igpu (intel 630), and later install the dedicated graphics. I would like to simplify this process and go the...
Hey Shark, what was the motivation behind updating the software to newer versions? I have the same mobo and cpu, I plan on using your thread as a guide. However, I want to reduce complexity and not perform any specific software updates unless necessary.
Before Update 1, what were your issues...
