OK fl0rian, thanks for the answers - here's some more questions... but if the necessary drivers are indeed included w/ OS X, wouldn't they be updated w/ each OS X update? this leads me to believe that what you're saying is that the necessary NVIDIA drivers ARE NOT included w/ OS X (Yosemite)...
