In the guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/148093-guide-booting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover-uefi.html
"Installing essential kexts
Remove EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, leaving just 'Other'"
There is a 10.10 now. Is that where the kexts go instead of 'Other'...
Do I then need another partition besides the install media and the "CLOVER EFI" and "Install_osx" for the actual installation, or will that be handled during install?
This BIOS is so limited, I have no control over the USBs only boot order. Is it possible to build the system directly onto the HDD connected by USB to the MAC and then install the HDD into the HP laptop?
CPU-Z did not provide any info on chipset. Is there another tool that I can use to provide this? This is all I have been able to find: "Intel HD Graphics Family, 1600x900 Vendor ID 0x8086, Model ID 0x0116, Codename Sandy Bridge".
Hello. I would appreciate any help on installing Yosemite on a HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC model 1802. I have tried several versions of the guides using Clover, but I can't get to the installer (see screen shot). The screen gets all distorted. Thanks for any help.
Sorry, I though my profile signature was filled out. I have been using cpus=1, but still get the "Local APIC" (lapic) panic. The boot shown in the screen shot had: cpus=1, USBBusFix=Yes, -f -v boot options.
I will try the KernelPatcher module or Clover. Thanks for the help.
Thanks RehabMan, I've been following the guide, but it seems that no matter which boot options I try, I get the same result. I thought it was "Local APIC" (lapic) panic, as shown in the screen shot, but I also see an error "Kernel-_SYMTAB" not a kext. Could that be the real reason it bombs?
I have a system very similar to yours: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC Intel Core i7-2670QM CPU @2.2GHz. 4 GB memory. Intel SandyBridge Mobile Graphics chipset. I cannot reach the Installation screen. This is a screen shot of where I fail. Can you offer any advice?
