I have the same issue with my new 970 Plus. 250gb Version, crashes on format or install. I can keep the drive in and use my old install (a regular SSD) without any issues, though. My Board is a Gigabyte Z390 Designare.

Reporting the same issue. High Sierra, ALC892, CloverALC, AudioID is set to 1. Different Motherboard, though. Mine's an ASRock 970 Extreme 3. Also I never use Safari and sound usually crashes after playing any random video in chrome.
