I think I got it working. I flipped the switch back to the problematic bios and flashed the gts black bios from techpowerup and now it works with mac os. Appears to be running at 1405/2000mhz now.

I had the same issue with my i5-750. Your CPU needs to support "VMX Unrestricted Guest" which yours doesn't support. You need a westmere or newer for that.

No need for a clean install. Even if you forget to uninstall the nvidia web driver it won't cause issues. All I did when I switched was make sure readeondeinit was set in clover and had whatevergreen and lilu in kexts/other.

Oh I like that idea. Using the macpro6,1 board-id caused my usb to stop working for some reason so I lost my keyboard and mouse. What I decided to try was using the imac14,1 board-id with macpro5,1 product name; that works and I can now start the mojave installer without problems.

I get the same thing. Clover version, firmware version etc... doesn't matter. Once nvidia drivers are out I plan on using a patched usb installer. Google dosdude mojave patcher. I am able to at least start the install process using that.

Yup. Put them in your clover kexts folder along side fakesmc and any other kexts you are injecting.

To get past the macpro6,1 black screen you need to use lilu with whatevergreen. macpro6,1 doesn't work properly for my 1st gen i5; the cpu stays at 1.4ghz for some reason. Maybe for you it will work better.

You're not using a patched DSDT. I'm pretty sure you need one of those. I have a regular p7p55d and have no troubles at all. I am using a patched DSDT though. I'm also not using any built-in clover fixes (other than kext patching).

Interesting. I did not know the xeon x3460 worked with the p55 chipset. After doing some research it appears the x3460 will in fact work with my plain old p7p55d. I'm ordering one for $30 from ebay to replace my i5-750. Thanks sos86, I would've never though to try it until I saw this post.
