Single-slot Graphics card or USB WIFI - mini-itx build

You're right. I confused the V21 for the V1 which, as all others, has 2 slots. Ideally, if 2 slots is all I have, I would use a single-slot GPU with the TP-Link PCI Express Wifi Adapter. A new Gigabyte mini-itx board is what I was looking at, so the Apple Broadcom replacement wouldn't work...

Single-slot Graphics card or USB WIFI - mini-itx build

Sorry for the confusion. I meant the cases themselves only have two expansion slots. Like the cooler master elite 130 and others. However, it seems the Thermaltake Core V21 has 5, so I think that's the way to go. Thanks again for the low profile card suggestion. I'll look into that one or...

Thanks, but I'm hoping to find a single slot so I can use a wifi card. Again, sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Single-slot Graphics card or USB WIFI - mini-itx build

[DARN. APOLOGIES - I THINK I POSTED THIS TO THE WRONG FORUM] Hello. I'm considering a Mac Mini Deluxe/mini-ITX build. I currently have a functional mATX build (huge) but I wan to downsize considerably. My issue is that most cases I've been researching have only 2 expansion slots, so installing...

[SOLVED] Cannot complete 10.13.2 update after selecting Install Drive

Perhaps not.... this was suggested in the Post I referenced, so I simply followed the instructions exactly and it worked. I did’t possess the technical knowledge to determine if this was or wasn’t necessary.

[SOLVED] Cannot complete 10.13.2 update after selecting Install Drive

I have figured out how to fix this issue and have successfully updated to 10.13.2. Here's what I did: I essentially followed all procedures listed in post #9 (of this linked thread) Before doing so, I used KextBeast to install the latest Lilu.kext and AppleALC.kext (searched Google for this...

[SOLVED] Cannot complete 10.13.2 update after selecting Install Drive

HellMate.... everything you posted is exactly what I’ve already done. I did a fresh install with 10.13.1 from usb on the SSD, selecting the previous filling format. This worked for installation, but not for the .2 update. I’m going to mess with some boot arguments this morning to see how it goes.

[SOLVED] Cannot complete 10.13.2 update after selecting Install Drive

realtekALC is the only kext I have in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other as well. That is quite odd, but my comp currently functions without any major issues. Just can't complete the update.

[SOLVED] Cannot complete 10.13.2 update after selecting Install Drive

After installing the update from the App Store, and after the system restarts, I am prompted to either select either my typical MacOS drive or the MacOS Install drive. Per the instructions on the update thread, I selected the install drive, but the boot/install process freezes. The first...

CustoMac Desktop USB Fixes - 10.11+ Reference

I did this exactly and as a result, 2 USB 3.0 hubs appeared in my device tree at appropriate 3.0 speeds. However, they do not seem to correspond with any of my actual USB ports on my tower. I tried connecting my 3.0 device into each port and noticed that the device would still appear under a...

    Won't boot past apple logo

Hello Srodd14, Happy to help, if I can. I did not flash the BIOS. At the time of my build (and I believe currently), the F5 BIOS for this board was in Beta stage and therefore not recommended by most for use with the hack. Check the Gigabyte website when your board comes in to confirm if it's...

    Won't boot past apple logo

Just an update for those who took the time to check this thread and help me out: I was able to successfully install Mavericks 10.9.4 and it appears to be fully operational (at least for now). I'm not able to take advantage of the on-board Bluetooth (I'll prob just spend like $15 to get an...

    Won't boot past apple logo

just an FYI to all you folks kind enough to take the time and help me out here... I'm not able to boot -x (Safe Mode). I get hung up at the same place no matter what arguments I enter. That being said, I used the USB to boot into terminal and removed that specific kext, but it made no...

    Won't boot past apple logo

I did a fresh install with the MultiBeast settings below. Everything is set up as you said in addition to the Bios settings mentioned in my OP. The dedicated graphics is set to primary and the onboard graphics is disabled. I booted with GraphicsEnabler=no -v. I still get hung up at the same...
