Disk Drill has some APFS support but I don't know if it can recover from such errors yet (!). R-Studio probably can. It's quite bizarre the only thing that really works seems to be recovering all the data, reformatting and copying them back over, which is overkill.

ryzen desktops apparently get acceleration. is it possible on these newer laptops? that would be cool!

Rampage III Extreme works fine. I'm still not sure how I managed to get hibernation working in the other computer, but it's mostly super easy to use this board.

I think I don't have any GPU acceleration. It's slow and glitchy, no transparency. I must be using the native framebuffer driver somehow, although both monitors do run, or maybe it's a weird mode of the native nvidia driver, what should I show? It's weird that it says Metal is supported when...

I don't think I have full acceleration (everything is so slow?) but it does support Metal. There are some glitches, too, looks like software rendering errors... Was I supposed to get acceleration? ^_^

It seems the only solution to avoiding AFMI error is to use Disable Library Validation kext? I booted successfully with that kext. This is for the latest version on github and 10.15.7. I ran the script afterwards, too. This isn't mentioned in the installation instructions?

Graphics patch didn't work, library validation had to be disabled. Graphics acceleration seems slow. I'm checking if everything else works. I think ICH0R patches were necessary. Booted successfully with Clover 5119.

Freezes on ex 58 gtx 580 10.15.7 during boot with core dump messages. Kextcache didn't seem to help, what can I try? ps: trying to build cache again maybe there was a problem first time... didn't help. recovery mode did open in nvidia mode though. but boot hangs with denying core dump errors. no...

10.15.7, I think it did alright with latest Mojave, too. Relearning everything about Clover, so much fun. :)

I have the same core dump nonsense on 10.15.7. It doesn't boot keeps repeating those messages.

This version is unable to run the latest nvidia patcher on my system. Back up before you try the patch! 3rd party kexts in L/E can crash the system while booting, careful with that, too.

Explains things! What happens is the system reboots after a while rendering it unusable or it doesn't boot at all. This was quite frustrating as I could not trace it and I can't remember what exactly happens but no configuration change seemed to help. This could be because it breaks the required...

After the latest patch on 10.15.7, I get weird process crashes during boot and then stall... It completely broke the system whereas Mojave did work! Anyone else have this issue? PS: yes, the machine is an old guard monster! GTX 580!

5102 is alright. 5125 is really problematic for me! I wasted so much time puzzling over it....

I had the same hang/panic errors on boot, removing 3rd party kexts from L/E helped solve this problem, but booting is still hard. :)

FWIW, not only did High Sierra work, but I also made a similar board run both Mojave and Catalina, about to figure out how to boot Catalina :p Too bad nvidia web drivers don't work but it seems to run alright. Hopefully the last hack installation I will bother with, I really needed some...

I installed 10.15.7 on an old guard machine BUT it panics on boot, I think this might be the reason. I couldn't see what exactly causes it.... Update: Oh yes, if you are seeing a quick kernel panic, it's likely caused by 3rd party kexts in L/E. I moved them all out and now the boot progresses...
