You saved me man! Audio works now. This is how the community survives. Unfortunately our laptop still has the black screen until 3 minutes on boot bug unresolved it seems. It's a new model so only time will say I suppose.
Here you go. Here I've changed to layout-id 13.
I'm thinking of just switching to VoodooHDA even if it's unreliable. There seems to be no solution for AppleHDA no matter what I try. Is there a guide for that?
None of them work. I tried them all.
I came back to layout ID 15 as before, so my problem reporting files remain the same.
I would also like to mention that the one time audio did work before was with id 15.
I just set config.plist/KernelAndKextPatches/DellSMBIOSPatch=YES, rebuilt caches just in case and rebooted. Still no audio. I've attached updated IOReg.
Okay, I spoke too soon. My audio stopped working again.
After my last post, I noticed that after each time I rebuilt kext caches, system booted fine only once with working audio next time, failing all other consecutive times until I reboot with my backup Clover USB drive and rebuild kext...
Fixed! Thankyou.
Now is there any way to fix the color banding on screen for the UHD 630? In system reports,
Framebuffer Depth: 30-Bit Colour (ARGB2101010)
To my knowledge, it should be 32-bit to remove color banding and show smooth blurs and shadows. Is this an EDID issue?
EDIT: I've read...
Hi, my audio and brightness controls are not at all working on Mojave 10.14.1. Also, the brightness seems to go to zero (black screen) half-way during boot and only comes back to full brightness after about 2 minutes or so. This seems to be a common issue on UHD 630 and I could not find a viable...
I don't mean come off as rude, but I wouldn't lie about following the guide while troubleshooting a problem. First off that guide is more tailored towards USB booting. I did follow through all clover patches, DSDT and SSDT edits, BIOS options anyway. I'm trying to upgrade existing...
I've followed that guide already...
As mentioned, I have a perfectly working Sierra installation. I've also followed your guides for common high sierra upgrade problems
I have a perfectly working sierra 10.12.6 setup on my 3537. I've read through and gone with the steps mentioned in "Common problems in 10.13.x" thread, stopped VESA drivers from loading by injecting properties. Finally I've checked and updated kexts and clover patches.
To avoid APFS conversion...
Yes. Actually I had renamed patched to patche as clover F4 key was not extracting origin ACPI files now. Otherwise it's the same result.
I guess I'll just start over.
Which part do you think is wrong exactly? I had patched all required ACPI files twice by now with every feature (audio, video, wifi, etc.) working very nicely on macOS. I just don't comprehend why those patched files would suddenly go invalid just because I changed my partition sizes and...
