maybe you'll need to erase the disk first. regardless of what you do, be sure to have a full (or even better bootable) backup of your disk.

step 1: full backup of your hd (in case anything goes wrong) using carbon copy cloner step 2: in the installer, go to disk utility and format your disk (you'll need to select Options > GUID-Partition Table)
