    GIGABYTE GB-BXi5-4570R brix pro

curious if anyone has had hardware issues with their brix? I have been having random shutdowns for about 10 days now, a few times a day. Then today, would no longer boot up. No video at boot up. I found that one of my ram slots has gone bad, placing any ram in the slot stops boot up. The...

I have had usb power surges quite frequently when gaming for a few hours, I am using a powered external hub, so I don't see how thats possible. This only happens on the front ports, I conclude that this is actually a heat issue, has anyone else seen this behavior or have any thoughts?

updated yesterday, used the combo update, I only needed to reinstall audio kext with kext utility, then all was well. Had some errors about kext not being able to be unloaded on my first shutdown but seems fine since.

hey, curious if you ever got the fan speed figured out? I would really love to find a way to make the fan speed change slower, the real problem with the noise is the constantly changing speed and freq. Any thoughts?

if you used this cooler would you cut some of the heatsink off? I think the brix heatsink is shaped around some power components on the mobo. I looked into that connector more, it appears to actually be a 2x5 pin header and it's on most brix versions, but it's not labeled with anything besides...

http://www.streacom.com/ I was thinking about trying to fit the brix mobo in one of these cases, with a better cpu cooler, I'm not sure how I would get all the ports accessible though. Theres some nice fanless cases apparently capable of 65W TDP with lots of heatpipes... any thoughts on this?

Please let us know how the cooling mod goes? I wanted to purchase a backup psu for this box since I always seem to break them, but I can't find this FSB model anywhere... does anyone know of something comparable with the same size plug?

I would be interested to know if the brix gaming uses the same main blower fan and what the specs are on those two side fans. The psu is the same, will that two wire fan hook up easily to the 4 pin header or do you need something pwm.

glad the m500 is working out, I was reading the data sheet on it, apparently it is default set to throttle itself at 75 degrees, so maybe this is why it maintains stability.

I was thinking about something like this, or even building a slightly larger custom case thats more ... apple... but where would you pick up power for the smaller fan? I guess in a larger case you could breakout the power supply before reaching the motherboard and get a slightly higher wattage...

I think last time I ordered from there for an electronics project they included some thermal tape, spark fun also sells a nice square of thermal tape, it's double sided and can support these tiny heat sinks even upside down. In other oddness, I'm getting strange sound problems since changing my...

is this setting in the clover config.plist? also, I might buy from here http://www.coolinnovations.com/products/heatsinks/surface-mount-devices and try them out on my MSATA to see if I can get it to hang at 65 under use.

The m500 seems to sit around 64, peaks at 74? Have no instability so far, I have an m500 SATA in there as well thats nice a cool. Do you have wifi enabled? Could the wifi be heating up and too close to the MSATA? My CPU sits around 70, and peaks around 98, I think turbo is working up to...
