<< Solved >> Installing Mojave on Lenovo T470

Thanks for the tips. Turns out the problem was my NVMe drive. The Samsung PM981 that came with my T470 is incompatible and causes kernel panics. I bought a new one (a 1TB Adata XPG SX8200 Pro) and was able to install High Sierra and Mojave following Rehabman's guide, then using the T470 repo...

<< Solved >> Installing Mojave on Lenovo T470

Hi there, I've been doing my best to follow RehabMan's guide to install OSX 10.14.6 to my Thinkpad T470, with little success so far. The furthest I can get is half-way through the installation, to where OSX reports "15 minutes remaining" before rebooting. I don't see any error messages at this...

    Fixing Thinkpad brightness steps

Hi all, I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X220 working very nicely with Mavericks 10.9.1. Brightness works using the ScrLk and Pause keys to adjust up and down inside OSX. The only problem is that the steps seem too high: at step 0, the screen is off, but the next step is something like 60% brightness...

ThinkPad X220 on Mavericks - battery questions

They don't :( But, on the other hand, nor does Fn + PgUp, yet that still turns the ThinkLight on and off. Does that mean it's actually something in the DSDT, and not in your kext (since I couldn't see any mention of ThinkPads, or those particular key combinations, in your kext Content.plist...

ThinkPad X220 on Mavericks - battery questions

Thanks. Any thoughts on my question about setting brightness using ThinkPad function keys?

ThinkPad X220 on Mavericks - battery questions

Sorry - was using v3, which I read can generate corrupt files. Opened for me though. I've now used the Snow Leopard version from the post to do it again. Opens fine at my end.

ThinkPad X220 on Mavericks - battery questions

Oh and by the way - with your Voodoo PS2 mouse and keyboard kext, I found the ThinkPad Fn key is now working with F4 to put the laptop to sleep, as is the Fn + PgUp combo for the ThinkLight, which is all great. Volume and mute buttons work too. Is there any way to activate other Thinkpad...

ThinkPad X220 on Mavericks - battery questions

Oh I know... I'm delighted it works at all, and the battery life is still quite good, I just want to maximise it if I can and check there's nothing avoidable that's impacting it. IO Reg file is attached. Many thanks again!

ThinkPad X220 on Mavericks - battery questions

It looks like I hadn't renamed to IGPU. I've done that now (and also applied the HD3000 brightness fix, rather than the general one). Can't see much (if any) improvement in power consumption, though. Anything else that could explain it?

ThinkPad X220 on Mavericks - battery questions

Hi, Thanks for your reply - and for all of your work, which has been so useful in getting this HacBook up and running already. Brightness works, and I generally have it quite low (and I'm comparing my OSX battery life with Windows under similar brightness conditions). About the IGPU PM -...

ThinkPad X220 on Mavericks - battery questions

Hi all. Thanks to the various info on this forum, I've managed to get my Thinkpad X220 working very nicely with Mavericks. The only things that don't work yet are VGA out and the SD card reader (which I got to work with the Voodoo driver, but had frequent KPs on boot, so have disabled it for...
