macOS 14.4 Update

Took a while for me to update, but no problems at all on my desktop (no wifi), Dell Inspiron 3171. OC 0.9.8

Edit: By the way, I saw comments elsewhere that USB ports on hubs (especially associated with Dell monitors) and CUPS printers may fail with this updater. Good news. I have both - and they are all working.
Further edit: Those problems turn out to be apple model specific, and may primarily be an issue with apple silicon cpus. So not really going to be manifesting for us.

I've updated Post #3 incorporating @CaseySJ's findings that make the update to 14.4 work.

A little late but finally got it done. Had to set securebootmodel to Disabled and like the last Sonoma updates, download the installer from the App Store.

A slow update with no confidence-building messages like "X minutes remaining". Nevertheless, it was clean and nothing was broken. I followed the advice given here, firstly by making certain I had a bootable backup. Next, I re-checked my USB map using Hackintool. I made a screenshot of the Hackintool USB tab for later comparison. Next, I updated OpenCore from 0.9.6 to 0.9.9 and rebooted. Finally, I refreshed my Time Machine backup. That done I started the update. Upon completion, I checked the USB map once more. No changes.
