Fenvi T919 and Broadcom wifi back in Sonoma with OCLP

  • replace IOSkywalkFamily.kext, current version is 1.0.0 and you have to change to version 1.1.0, also available on the OLCP GitHub >> payloads folder >> Kexts folder >> Wifi folder >> Link

Installed OLCP 1.4.1, and that's exactly what I was missing, a RTFM-moment for me.

Also for some reasons it wasn't able to connect to my Wifi network (like the wifi icon simple keeps wave-fanning) until I deleted the networks and re-add.

Thanks!

February 2024: macOS Sonoma 14.4. public beta breaks OCLP patch

In public beta versions of macOS 14.4, Apple has modified parts of the Wi-Fi stack and OCLP root patch has stopped working so the Fenvi and Broadcom Wi-Fi are no longer operational.

To get back these Wi-Fi, 2 changes are required:
  • OLCP 1.4.0 which is not yet an official version, for now you can grab it from OCLP GitHub in the Actions tab >> in the list of workflows choose the most recent one with the text CI - Build wxPython >> Link
  • replace IOSkywalkFamily.kext, current version is 1.0.0 and you have to change to version 1.1.0, also available on the OLCP GitHub >> payloads folder >> Kexts folder >> Wifi folder >> Link
How to make the change?
  1. replace IOSkywalkFamily.kext, revert OCLP root patch and reboot
  2. apply root patch of "OCLP 1.4.0 nightly build" and reboot.
The other settings do not change.

Note: Keep in mind that macOS 14.4 is still a beta version and this may have more changes in subsequent versions until the final one. But at least for now, in beta 3, this OCLP tweak works and allows the Fenvi / Broadcom to become operational again.
Just wanted to thank you. I wouldn't have known where to start.

Thank you so much!

FYI, OCLP release notes state, wifi may not auto connect, they recommend forgetting the network and re-connecting.

This happened to me on Sonoma 14.4 after getting my Fenvi wifi card working again. Forgetting the network and re-connecting worked perfectly

Somewhere I must be failing this new workaround. I updated to 14.4 like an idiot before installing OCLP 1.4.1. Lost WiFi capability right after update finished. So... I have removed OCLP root patches. Updated to the latest IOSkywalkFamily.kext in OC/Kexts linked a few paged back "V1.1.0". Though it still shows v 1.0 in info.plist". Updated OCLP to v 1.4.1 and installed root patches. Rebooted. My WiFi still just shows an Exclamation point on it. No capabilities. Please advise is possible.

@slipanot - Hi clean/reset NvRAM and try this EFI, made a few changes to yours.
Good luck.
Reset NVRAM, Replaced with your EFI. All boots fine but still no WiFi. Just an exclamation point on it. Bluetooth still seems to work fine.
Im using a Fenvi T919. All has worked flawless until 14.4. I have something screwed up somewhere!

Are you using the latest released version of OCLP which is 1.4.1?
PS. A couple of things to try.
1. Toggle off WiFi and on again.
2. If any WiFi Networks are showing after find including yours, click on yours and from the menu, click Forget and then join again.
@miliuco has quite a good Tutorial on the whole process, just give it a quick read and I'm sure it will solve your problem.

Ive read it a few times. And followed it to the tee. Still for some reason i just get a blanked out WiFi emblem with an exclamation point in the middle. The toggle is not useable. I have deleted WiFi in network all together and hoping the plist would rebuild after reboots. Nothing.. lol. Now, if i boot into 14.3.1 i have on a second drive all works normal in it. And my 14.3.1 drive is running OCLP 1.4.1 patches also. So IDK ?
