Fenvi T919 and Broadcom wifi back in Sonoma with OCLP

All systems that have the OCLP root patch applied receive full-size updates (not incremental).
I think unless you revert OCLP with the two boot-args which includes SIP setting as well as SecureBootModel set from Disabled to Enabled and R.E Kext in place, then the Incremental Update will be available.
Then of course you'll have to rematch to get WIFI availability.

Then again my friend you know all this.:)

@esafeddie
Good night, my friend.
What I want to note is that any system with OLCP root patch applied has a broken seal snapshot and cannot offer incremental updates, only complete ones.

Have you tried?

(Of course miliuco's knowledge)

Also: In case you make a time machine copy on sonoma can you load it on ventura? It is just for a friend ;)

@guindillas
What @esafeddie says is correct.
Reverting OCLP root patch + RestrictEvents.kext + revpatch=sbvmm boot arg allows incremental updates with SMBIOS of models that have T2 chip (MacPro7,1, iMacPro1,1...).
SMBIOS that do not have T2 chip, such as iMac19.1, can get incremental updates without RestrictEvents.kext (provided they do not have root patch and OCLP applied).

Not using Time Machine. But I guess you can get Sonoma backup on Ventura.

Hi guys,
I'm in the process to upgrade to Sonoma with my machine (ASUS PRO ART Z690 as my signature) as soon as the 14.4 version will be out and, most likely I'd go for OCLP, to have my Broadcom working with it. As I know the SIP must be partially disabled with this solution, I'm asking you all if there are potential problems with Adobe Suite programs? They are the core of my working on the Macs. Thanks in advance! :)

Some people have used the AMFIpass kext to avoid these problems.

@miliuco says this about AMFI

AMFI and AMFIpass.kext

AMFI (Apple Mobile File Integrity) was originally seen on iOS but migrated to macOS in 10.12 Sierra, possibly in 2012 when GateKeeper and digitally signed code were introduced. In short, it is a technology that blocks the execution of non signed code. It consists of 2 components:
  • the /usr/libexec/amfid service run as root from /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.MobileFileIntegrity.plist
  • the extension /System/Library/Extensions/AppleMobileFileIntegrity.kext.
AMFI must be enabled to grant third-party applications access to privacy-relevant services and/or peripherals, such as external cameras and microphones. But, with SIP and/or AMFI disabled (a necessary condition to apply OCLP root patches) the dialog box to grant access to those applications is not shown to the user so those peripherals simply cannot be used in applications like Zoom or MS Teams, for example.

AMFI is usually enabled but it has already been seen that OCLP root patches require disabling AMFI and SIP in order to be applied. To avoid the problem of peripherals not working with third-party applications, the OCLP team has developed the AMFIPass.kext extension that allows AMFI to be enabled when the system must operate with AMFI and SIP disabled, such as when using OCLP or applying root patches. This fixes the permissions issue and OCLP can apply the patches as if AMFI were disabled.

More than SIP, it’s AMFI disabled the main drawback for Adobe system. As @trs96 says, you better use AMFIPass.kext without amfi=0x80 boot arg. This way, Adobe apps will work.
Another up vote for this comment, @miliuco. I am currently using the OCLP Patch + AMFIPass.kext and the full suite of Adobe Creative Cloud; all work without issues.

With AMFIPass.kext it asks for confirmation (camera, microphone access) , or just pass let it pass?

No, you don’t have to do anything, it’s transparent to the user.
