Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

I've updated my ProArt z690's BIOS to v. 2802 and AQC-113CS to firmware v. 1.3.33 from Dell site.
I too performed the firmware update from the Dell site. My sleep in Ventura always worked, but it would wake up and go back to sleep several times before it stayed asleep. I almost never witnessed this as I would walk away from my desktop. After the firmware update, I tested, and now sleep performs normally.

Just wondering if anyone is successfully running BIOS version 2802 or 3101? I was unable to get my machine to boot and had to downgrade bios back to 2703.

Working with v. 2802 and everything is going perfectly. Not yet tried 3101, sorry. I'm currently under Ventura 13.6.3

Hi guys,

I'm in the process to upgrade to Sonoma with my machine (same as @CaseySJ) as soon as the 14.3 version will be out and, most likely I'd go for OCLP, to have my Broadcom working with it. As I know the SIP must be partially disabled with this solution, I'm asking you all if there are potential problems with Adobe Suite programs? They are the core of my working on the Macs. Thanks in advance! :)

Hi, I totally fell in love with Meshlicious case :p So I build similar config system for my new entertainment corner :)
Attached EFI folder was super good start, but for me I needed to replace OC 8.3 to successfully install Monterey.
Monterey seems rock solid (still waiting for BCM94360NG card to arrive)!

My question to @CaseySJ: how would you compare Ventura stability and working feature list vs. Monterey? Is it worth to upgrade? After scrolling through 4000 posts I got impression that Z690 in Ventura having some sleep issues because of other Ethernet drivers. Also regarding AirDrop and Continuity availability in Ventura also I didn't found clear answers, but I would definitely love to use it. Do you remember how Ventura was behaving?

Glad to hear it!

This module works well in Ventura but will not work in Sonoma. So it may be good to consider using standard Intel WiFi if you plan to upgrade to Sonoma. However, Intel WiFi does not support most of Continuity features including AirDrop.

I have had no problems with sleep on my Asus ROG Strix Z690-I in either Ventura or Sonoma…

Clean latest Ventura install went OK, OC upgrade to latest also was totally fine. But sleep functionality is struggling (in Monterey it was fully working).
When system goes to sleep (or after from menu manually), then it in a milisec. wakes up, does something (with screen off) and shuts down (or finally sleeps, I can't tell). Then it can't be waken up by keyboard/mouse. With power button it starts normally as it was shut down. Yes, MacOS have log with "sleep wake failure in EFI hackintosh" message.

System tested now with Ethernet enabled by AppleIGC.kext and with native driver settings. Results are same. Onboard Intel Wifi disabled. I'm always using SSDT-UIAC-ASUS-Z690-I-GAMING-15-PORTS.aml enabled.

How to debug this? Also it's not clear is in post #1,068 suggested post-install tweak "sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 standby 0 autopoweroff 0" is for Monterey or Ventura?

Maybe you have post with latest/greatest Ventura Asus Z690-i Gaming WiFi EFI to peek? ;)

@KKTK

First thing to check:
  • System Settings -> Energy Saver -> Wake for Network Access should be disabled

@CaseySJ I don't know if this is pertinent or not but after the last Ventura update (now i'm on v. 13.6.4) the old problems of the Asus ProArt Z690 have been back:

  • System doesn't go to sleep if Aquantia ETH is connected, and
  • Front USB-C port goes to disconnection before connecting in stable way.
My system is on BIOS v. 2802 and I had the Aquantia firmware updated already in the past.
Anyone with similar symptoms?
