Result.

Hello, this app sounds totally awesome. I am trying to use it on my hack (Big Sur AORUS Z390 PRO) however it closes suddently when I click "save to folder". I have tried to change folder or in terminal "sudo xattr -cr /Applications/HackinDROM.app"

It does not work, nothing happens, the app crashes :( It seems to be updated and working well but it is not

Can you please help me to fix it?

@Inqnuam,

Hey heads-up (unless I messed up):
Using v2.1.2 (but probably older versions) with Intel Wireless updating, HackinDROM prompts one to select the appropriate AirportItlwm.kext that's dependent on OS version (as to be expected, and as you've noted earlier), but if you select one (in my case Monterrey version), it replaces the already existing kext with the new one, but the new one will be incompatible with the config because it installs with a "Monterrey" folder level at the first level when you drill down to "Show Contents."

I had to pull the ACTUAL kext out of THAT folder and replace the one on the level up.

I'm sure that made absolutely NO sense, but let me(us) know if I just did it wrong.

Thanks!
J

Hello,
thanks for reporting,
looks like the archive (0.7.9) uploaded by Ben42 was corrupted, just rolled back latest version for that build to 0.7.8, you can download it then update to latest OC with the standalone updater (put it in an EFI partition, then right click through HackinDROM, then click to "update")

Hello,
Thanks for reporting that issue!
When HackinDROM asks you to select AirportItlwm.kext version, kext isn't correctly installed but when it is automatically detected it installs correctly!

Its better to rename your AirportItlwm.kext to AirportItlwm-Monterey.kext (also in config.plist) then it ill auto-detect and install the actual version for you.

I'm going to fix the issue as soon as possible!

Ah! I have just gotten in the habit of clearing out all version-dependent kexts as I never have multiple installations… sounds like I was just out-smarting myself.
Thanks!

Hi. I always seem to get this issue but apparently am not clever enough to remember what the fix is! :)

I'm running v2.1.3 of HackindROM (latest afaik) - in the main HackindROM screen it shows my OC as 0.7.9 and "Up to date" underneath the mount.unmount button.

The latest / current OC is v0.8.2 - newer than what I have installed. How do I encourage HackindROM to update me please?

Thanks

@Inqnuam;
Although I still haven’t renamed my airport kext, I did upgrade to 0.8.2 using your latest version, and the issue above didn’t happen…so just wanted to say “thank you!” for adjusting that in this version!
Best,
J
