Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

How did you interface with the motherboard, was it by replacing the onboard Intel AX210 or by a PCIe NGFF converter card?
I replaced the onboard chip.

Might you have an amazon link for the device you're using? I think the Fenvi has BCM94360NG... it was working in Monterey so idk what the issue is.

I bought from New Egg in late November. Here's a link to the one I'm using.
I purchased the Fenvi version (from Fenvi official store) on Newegg. I don’t trust other lookalikes.

Update: This is the same item as in @gandem's post.

I'm sad to hear you're going to retire the Gigabyte Z690 Aero G system as your setup and advise caused me to get that system. Mine works perfectly, and I plan on keeping it, maybe putting it into a new case.

However, you inspired me to retire my older systems (MyHero II Z370 system and earlier).
Hi @Stork,

I will continue to support the Gigabyte Z690 Aero G. From the outset of that build it was my intention to upgrade to a DDR5 board with on-board Thunderbolt. The Asus ProArt Z690-Creator was that upgrade.

Back when the Aero G was assembled, DDR5 prices were high and availability was poor. Many of us decided at the time to experiment with Alder Lake on a relatively inexpensive system.

But it turned out to be a very solid performer. My only reason for retiring it is to downgrade to a mini-ITX form factor. During the two years of pandemic lockdowns I accumulated a fair bit of clutter :) which is now being dealt with. I have to stuff 4 Hackintoshes into my home office and retire the other 4! You don’t want to know where those 8 machines are scattered right now. :)

Thanks. My mini-ITX system has been running fine all day so far. Not sure what happened yesterday when there were three WindowServer crashes nearly back-to-back-to-back. Whatever gremlin that was, it seems to have vanished (for now).

Another question Casey; Can I use this card and M.2 to PCI-E adapter (install it on another M.2 slot in motherboard) so I can free up the only PCIe slot I have (currently occupied by T919 Fenvi). Hope I am making sense.

This is a Key A/E M.2 card, which means it will only work in a Key A/E compatible slot. The only such slot on the Asus ProArt Z690 and Maximus is the slot where the Intel WiFi/BT card is installed. No adapter is needed.

It is also possible to use a Key A/E to PCIe adapter, but then you will need a USB cable and connect that cable to internal USB 2 header for Bluetooth.

If you are trying to free up a PCIe slot, the only option is to install the BCM94360NG into the slot where Intel AX210 is currently installed.

Thanks Casey but iI can't seem to find the Intel wifi card on Z690 Extreme board, its tucked away somewhere. The board has 5 or so M.2 slots 'M' key. Is there an A/E to M adaptor I could use?

If you have a Fenvi FV-T919 already installed, then why are you trying to replace one PCIe card with another?
