Less than 2 hours later my last post I can confirm that Catalina installation went just fine with HP Elitebook 840 G5.
I haven't tested anything yet but install was smooth.

New clean install or update from Mojave?
 
Mojave was a bit laggy and slower than usual so I didn’t want to take.l a chance and did a whole new installation.
Process was very smooth. From start to finish less than 2 hours including 45 mins downloading Catalina from App Store and preparing the USB
 
Please help!
I can't create bootable Catalina usb.
I get kernel panic on "install catalina..." clover menu item.
