Hey Guys,

I am trying to make hackintosh out of a S3-371 i3 model. It is Aspire S3-371 33214G50add - NX.M7KEC.001 - Intel® Core™ i3-3217U - Chipset HM77. And lets not forget... Maverick is what I am trying to accomplish.

I created an USB dongle with UniBeast 3.0.1 + Legacy USB + Laptop...

And here I am stuck in black screen. I can see the USB in boot menu, I can start booting by which I mean I see the grey apple screen and than after a while it goes just black and it is stuck.

I believe I might need to boot with some flag, but I have no idea which. I tried more with no luck. Any ideas?

You should post in the Mavericks forum.

Legacy USB is a mistake.

Please provide complete details in your profile.

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx). For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

This isn't getting response in the wifi forum so ill try it here.

I have the Acer S3. I decided to replace the 20gb ssd with a BCM943225 wifi/bluetooth chip. The laptop was recognizing the ssd, but it is not recognizing the BCM943225 chip in dcpi manager. I also tested another wifi chip that I can confirm works on another computer and it also doesn't recognize it. Please help!!! Thanks

There are actually several different configurations of that same form-factor of socket.
mSATA =/= mPCIe

Has to do with the pin-outs being different. I can't remember the specifics; google will be your friend. I found this stuff out with my ThinkPad T430.

Good luck!

You mentioned that the WAN card on the s3 is mPCIe, now do you know if it use USB pins (pin 36+38) or PCIe pins (23, 25, 33, 35), because I'm trying to hook up my old Radeon 5850 to my laptop as a eGPU, and the mPCIe has to be running off of PCIe pins for it to work properly...

did support stopped? well anyway on insanelymac I'm making a full guide for the s3-391 with hd3000 i3, were almost done, at the moment were debugging the brightness keys

Did you ever make this guide? I searched insanelymac but could not find it. My refurb s3 is coming next week and I would like to review your guide before I start. Thanks

Hey guys,

First time trying hackintosh on my Acer Aspire s3 i7 and i followed the instructions carefully but having some issues!

Got to the step where i should choose Yosemite HDD but it failed and wouldn't load past the apple logo on the white screen but if i booted it in -x safe mode i was able to finish the set up and get into Yosemite but of course in safe mode i can't use Multibeast... But now i can't get it to boot normally or via -x, just getting a white screen!

Newbie at this so any help would be good! Thanks.

Hello everyone, I have a quick question. Does anyone know whether or not the WiFi card on the Acer S3-391-6046 is soldered to the motherboard or is it replaceable?

Thanks for your time!

Hi, just for information,

Working actually with Sierra on S3-391 HD4000 with USB Wifi Dlink DWA 131 with offical drivers from dlink website because i have the AR9462 soldered.

Imessage/Facetime/AppleStore Graphics Card, trackpad + keyboard are OK.
I actually working on the sound, because alc269 does not seem to be sufficient

This guide is amazing, and yet I am far from mastering all the arcana of the hackintosh.

Finally, a Big Than you to rehabman for his "NullEthernet"/"Laptop DSDT Patch Master"/"MacASI tool"/Etc etc
And Thank you for all the member which have contributed to my success

Edit : Like Kidman,
I patched AppleIntelFramebufferCapri in hex with clover configurators:
find: 01000000 02000000 30000000 02050000 00040000 07010000 03040000 00040000 07010000
replace: 05030000 02000000 30000000 02050000 00080000 06000000 00000000 00000000 00000000

And it's OK :)
