First, setup: I7-3770K
Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H (updated to F6 Bios)
16Gb (4x4) Corsair Veng. PC1600,
HD4000 (for sake of easier installation)
OCZ Vertex 4 128GB
Seag. 1TB 7200 for Data
Rosewill 700 80+ PSU
Uni Beast 1.5.2 with ML on 32GB Corsair Thumb Drive, Multibeast 4.6.1, Chimera 1.11.0
Next,
Followed:http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...g-hd4000-full-qe-ci-sleep-sound-ethernet.html <--See for MB screen shots/settings/etc).
and also, http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-lion-desktop-guides/61205-success-ivy-cpu-ga-z77-ds3h.html.

Everything went perfect (ethernet, display-resolution is not optimal but acceptable)...until I applied the MB-4.6.1 and Chimera-1.11.0 per directions in above posts. After reboot (bios set to SSD for boot) it appears to get nearly booted and then freezes right after it displays the ethernet mac address, and once it said macs_swapon success and froze (just after ethernet MAC addy posts).

I've tried every workaround i could search for, here and the net. I modified the org.cam....plist in different ways. I tried it straight up with the initial MB/Chimera settings (See first link above), with the pmeisners posted plist (same result). I tried diffrent display strings ie 1920x1080x32 display and also without any display display strings (just graphics enabled), with/without "<key>EthernetBuiltIn</key><string>Yes</string>". I have basically tried the things that have typically worked or fixed problems related to this mobo/installation (plus no extra graphics card to consider). In fact, Im on it now typing this just before Im supposed to run MB and Chimera to finish off post install. Im suprised it works so well (95%) before the use of MB or Chim. but I can't put my finger on which setting I'm choosing incorrectly or failing to click during the whole MB/Chim process (if that's the where the problem is). Thanks in advance!

Same Here

Omg bro. Thank god I found this. Im having the same exact problems!!!!! I followed those two guides as well! Im so pissed this is my eighth time installing ML. I followed those guides exactly.

I am using a different CPU though, the 3570K. Identical on everthing else.

Verbose mode freezes on either: Aetheros Ethernet, or HDA Enabler, or CPU power management this CPU is not supported Blah black.

I keep reformatting and installing but nothing works. I am also typing this on the ML right now. 768 resolution and my ethernet already works with no muilti beast.

SOMEONE HELP US!!!!

JOIN THE CROWD! *Grabs pop corn.

I have the same motherboard and have installed more than 40 times!!! Ethernet does work great and I am also typing this on about my 47 install. The problem is no matter what settings you choose on Multibeast you get a Kernel Panic. I have tried every possible setting mathematically possible!!

My only solution is there is a issue with MB and our motherboards :( I am giving up for now and will check back to see if the guys much smarter than me have fixed it in a months time. (maybe a new MB is required?)

I KP even with JUST selecting UserDSDT (no .aml) and fix permissions. It just doesn't work!

Please post on this thread if either of you find a solution. I shall do the same.

Omfg i found a fix!

Okay. Chill i will have intructions up in 10. Im also watching the olympics. This will take a while to type.

I had similar problems with Z68ADP3, only installed user dsdt and no luck. I went back to my old Lion org.chameleon.Boot.plist and booted right up. I'm not sure which part of the new org.chameleon.Boot.plist was causing the prob, but I don't care anymore... everything running great

Dude if you really have a solid method I will be so happy. There are LOTS of us with this same issue pulling our hair out. It installs so nicely but then MB kills it all and I'm not smart enough to know how to fix it!

Enjoy the olympics! Can't wait for your solution or your DSDT. :) THANKS

So how did you fix it? By running the old version of Multi-beast? I also had lion running 100% but since then have formatted the drive to try lion thinking my SSD simply wouldn't work.

The solution

Dude if you really have a solid method I will be so happy. There are LOTS of us with this same issue pulling our hair out. It installs so nicely but then MB kills it all and I'm not smart enough to know how to fix it!

Enjoy the olympics! Can't wait for your solution or your DSDT. :) THANKS

This is exactly how I fixed it. I will narrate the whole thing.

Erased old ML for the 12th time. I install ML off my USB and installs. Boots up with 768 resolution and ethernet works out of box. No audio or QE. I download Muilti-Beast. I have to change the system setting to allow everything aka internet apps because now ML wants developer approved only apps. I open muilti-beast and run these settings:::::: See first two screen shots. ONLY those settings. Nothing more nothing less. Apply, install, enter password, complete.

Next, MB has now created the Extra folder with the boot.chameleon.plist. Go there. Copy this code to the bottom. Not the very bottom. Look at the screenshot titled plist.
Code:
<key>device-properties</key>
<string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000005006201140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string>

So, now your plist file should look like this:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>

<key>GenerateCStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GeneratePStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>npci=0x3000 darkwake=0</string>
<key>Legacy Logo</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>2</string>
<key>UseKernelCache</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>device-properties</key>
<string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000005006201140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string>
</dict>
</plist>

Save it and close it.

Shut down - NOT restart. Shut down.

Now turn on your computer and enter BIOS. Within BIOS ensure you are already on F6 (which you should be). Next ensure that your DVMT is at MAX. Now change your "Internal Graphics Memory Size" to 32MB.
Save and close.

Next, hit F12 to enter boot up options. Boot off the USB drive you just installed ML from. (The USB drive you ran unibeast on) When you see the Chimera boot screen select the Mountain Lion HDD. Not the USB, the ML HDD you just put ML on. I suggest verbose boot-up.

Now it should boot up fine. No problemos? Good. Next thing. Now your ethernet doesnt work. Go back to muitibeast and run one last time. See screen shot entitled "last mb run"

Disconnect your usb drive. Reboot. Dont touch anything just let it reboot. Voila!!!! It should work! Thats exactly what I did and I have perfect FLAWLESS ML now. YYAYAYAYAYYYYYYY :)

NOTE:::::::::::::: I DID NOT RUN CHIMERA AT ALL. ZERO CHIMERA. ONLY MUILTIBEAST. NO CHIMERA. CHIMERA BAD.

You are a freaking saint. I am trying it now! You seem to have the first method to correctly get this mobo to work! Here we go...!!!

Definitely tell me if it works. I want to know if this solution will help others.
