I have gotten my audio to work again on the motherboard. But I am going to try this USB audio device and see if it works and keep it as a backup. I will post the results of the USB device after I get it and try it. Thanks!

To try to resolve my constant audio issues, I just ordered the Syba USB audio device with the C Media chipset. EBay for $9 including shipping. Hopefully I will be able to plug it in and get sound and stop having these constant no audio battles after every update. I will post the results....

Hello, I am about at my wits end. I originally installed my system with 10.6.7 with no issues. Update to 10.6.8, no sound. Hours of work got sound back. Updated to 10.7.1, sound works. Updated to 10.7.2 no sound. Hours of work later, still could not get sound to work. Cloned system back...

Here is a little more info...my son's hackintosh is identical to mine... His machine acts the exact same way.... I did another test....I upgraded the machine to Lion today and made a clone using both Carbon Clone and Super Duper. I did not run Chimera on either.... The unit would boot...
