ok I changed the BIOS ACPI mode from S3 -> S1 and my machine sleeps to be sleeping and waking now.
Is it really working, it can't be the that simple. The keyboard and mouse still seem to be getting power (and hence pressing a keyboard button wakes the machine up).
I'll plug in an amp meter...

Ok After at least 30 reinstalls and hours of trial and error I have a working system.
My motherboard is GA-h55m-ud2h with an 480GTX plugged in. There is also an unsupported sound blaster plugged into the board which I am not using...
Yes I see the apple logo and the spinning wheel. Then the monitors go blank/standby. I will try all four combinations and post back. I did try GraphicsEnabler yes/no on it's own.
I waited patiently for the new multibeast for mountain lion. But I am still having problems.
The original install boots up fine from the usb drive. but after doing just a EasyBeast Patch it refuses to boot from the hard-drive.

I have the same problem on a h55m-ud2h attempting to install ML, if I try easy or dsdt approach the problem naturally occurs.
Strangely tho, install ONLY chimera via multibeast causes the problem as well.
