I love the idea for the bars... gives me an idea for mounting the MB. I have been hung up on the idea of standoffs but there isn't anything keeping me from using small blocks like that, either non-conductive blocks or little aluminum squares. Glad I saw this thread - gives me some good ideas...

Have you thought about modifying the heat-sink so that it will fit over the i7 heat-sink? (or the i5 for whiskeynipple0088) I don't know if you are using an aftermarket cooler or the one that comes in the retail box for the proc, but if you are using that one, its way smaller than the one off...

So... two issues that I see right now. #1. The Pioneer DVD drive is PATA, and my MB has no PATA headers. I know I can find adapters from 2-20 bucks online - anybody have suggestions as to which ones or if they have installed one and had success or failure. Brain fart on my part not checking...

Clicked on your mod... remembered seeing the big clunky fan on top. I like your original mod, w/o the tray, you just cut similar to what I want to do. Didn't even think about using replacement fans in the original location/config for the PSU - all the mods I've see thus far use a big 120mm fan over the top of it, intruding into the MB compartment. Good idea... thank you!

Any chance of getting this info updated for 24 pin ATX connector with the 8 pin CPU connector? I am getting ready to start a G5 case mod and really would like to use the original PSU. Gotta brand new board and I really want to keep the case as 'original' as possible. I do not have a v/ohm meter...
