First ASUS Z77 Thunderbolt Motherboards Released

Thinking out loud, but I wonder how Apple (more specifically MacOS) routes display data from the discrete GPU of the MacBookPro through to the Thunderbolt/Displayport. In Windows this requires the Virtu software bits to copy the frame buffer from the dGPU into the iGPU. Does MacOS have this...

Important: 10.7.4 and Sandy Bridge CPU PM Temporary Fix

Well, I had a go at this; and much to my surprise, it worked. MSRDumper CoreMulti(36) MSRDumper PStatesReached: 16 23 35 36 37 38 Wow! I'm shocked - my little locked processor is happy to turbo boost to 38x for single threaded load and happily runs at 35x under full load. It seems that...

Important: 10.7.4 and Sandy Bridge CPU PM Temporary Fix

Re: IMPORTANT: 10.7.4 and Unlocked Sandy Bridge CPUs [TEMP FIX] HWMonitor.app (included as part of Multibeast 4.4), multiplier was stuck at 16x. [maxes at 35 with XMP Profile enabled. Board: Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 (BIOS: F13) I updated bios week or so back -- that combined with the...

Important: 10.7.4 and Sandy Bridge CPU PM Temporary Fix

Re: IMPORTANT: 10.7.4 and Unlocked Sandy Bridge CPUs [TEMP FIX] Macman, I want to add that this problem also effect non-K processors. I also can confirm that the above workaround does also work. Also a curious change: Under 10.7.4: AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement: Turbo Ratios 1234 Yet...

    System Definition Problem: Fast Fix

Then use iMac12,2 as your system definition. (as an i7 + 6870 is a close to an iMac as you could get with desktop parts). The MacPro definition enables ECC kext, which, unless you have an i7-9xx series, it will panic.

    SStreet's GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 - i7-2600 - GTX560Ti Build

This is used to enable power management of the GTX560, without it; the card stays in low power (idle) mode - which is great for being idle, however, even flash animations and desktop effects need to bump the card up a notch, if for even briefly. You can visually notice the card stuck in low...

    SStreet's GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 - i7-2600 - GTX560Ti Build

It is a USB module from a G4 Macbook Pro, iFixit has them without antennas - being a ham radio geek, I just made my own simple dipole by desoldering the factory micro-coax connector and soldering on two 2.5cm 22-gauge solid copper wires; one to the former shield pad, and the other to the center...

As with all nVidia 4xx and 5xx cards, you must update the AppleGraphicsPowerManagment.kext plist with the values needed to enable power management on your specific card. Search the forums for more details.

    GA-Z68XP-UD3 Customac Build...Few Issues

Your Welcome! As it turns out, most mechanical drives being manufactured today are going to be 4K sectors. I only know this as I was searching for a replacement drive for my NAS box -- I needed a new 1TB drive and I didn't want to rebuild (not enough time or swing space) to support 4K sectors...
