    tonymacx86 Build - GA-P55M-UD2 - Core i5-750 - 9400 GT

Re: tonymacx86 UD2 Build Tony, I have all of your same components. Can you let us know exactly what issues you ran into for your setup and what steps you took to resolve them? I think it'd help the forum a lot since a lot of us built our systems off your info! :-) You could probably even...

    Thermal Compound?

So I should have all the physical tools to complete my build, but what Thermal Compound should I get for the processor? Is there anything else like this I need to build a PC from scratch that I might be forgetting?

Hackintosh Newb - Check my build before I buy?

The seller came back and said it's Rev E. So I'm guessing that's a no go. Guess I'll try and go with what dvdflashbacks bought since he's said he got his working on 10.6.2.

Hackintosh Newb - Check my build before I buy?

The only way to boot into 64 is to hold down 6 and 4 during bootup, right? If you don't do that Snow Leopard boots into 32 bit? I'm guessing Rev A won't work? haha

Found another copy of that card: http://cgi.ebay.com/D-Link-DWL-G520-108 ... 35a6999165 I'm thinking of buying it. Looks like the same one you have, is it?

Hackintosh Newb - Check my build before I buy?

Sorry about missing that! Excitement of the build and all! :-) I did find a wireless card that works for $45 bucks on newegg thanks to a PM exchange with dvdflashbacks. Maybe I'll stick with the 4 gig for now and then buy another 4 gig of the same type later when I raise some more funds...

Hackintosh Newb - Check my build before I buy?

I found this 4 gig set at ZipZoomFly that I could double up and save quite a bit to get to my 8 gig.... http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDe ... st=froogle What do you guys think of that deal? Is it up to par with the ram from Tony's build?

Hackintosh Newb - Check my build before I buy?

I couldn't pass up this deal. I went ahead and ordered the 3 500 gig hard drives from them. I didn't see this until this morning and somehow they hadn't sold out yet...so lucky me I guess! Now..Anyone good at finding 8 gigs of Ram instead of 4 for the same price? :-D Also, I still need the...

Hackintosh Newb - Check my build before I buy?

Thanks for your help! I'm trying to keep the hard drives around that 40 a piece mark since I'm getting 3 of them. I did find this Western Digital Blue and switched it out for the Seagate that everyone said had a bad fail rate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136075...

Hackintosh Newb - Check my build before I buy?

I hadn't thought about the wifi card.... What card is the most compatible these days? I just changed out the power supply to your recommendation. It's actually cheaper at the moment then the other one believe it or not.... I'm about to look at the hard drives as well. If you have any links...

Hackintosh Newb - Check my build before I buy?

I'm in the process of getting my A+ certification and as a part of that my lovely wife has given me the green light to build a new PC from scratch (i'm a bit out of practice!) So, that being said, I've put together a good bit of Tony Mac's build, but have a few questions. General Questions...
