MSI P55 GD65 stuck at AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient ready

feoZA, how did you get on with your install? I'm still running 10.6.8 on my P55 and wondering if it's worth the pain trying to upgrade. Cheers.

ALC889 on P55-GD65 stopped working after MB 3.10.1 install on SL

Still no luck. I've just booted in verbose mode and I can see assertions firing in the attached photo.

ALC889 on P55-GD65 stopped working after MB 3.10.1 install on SL

I used a DSDT pulled off the database.

ALC889 on P55-GD65 stopped working after MB 3.10.1 install on SL

Hi there, I'm running SnowLeopard 10.6.8 and recently ran MultiBeast 3.10.1 in order to try and get my Gbit Ethernet working. That did the trick but I now have lost audio. I have now tried every combination of ALC8xxHDA, AppleHDA Rollback and the Non-DSDT HDAEnabler for the 889 with no...

How to Fix the Problem [PCI Configuration Begin]

Ah, the curse of nothing at all working until right after you post a question. All is fine now. Re-cloned and tried again and this time it worked. Tried to follow the steps as best I could: (i) updated to 10.6.8 (ii) ran MB 3.9.1 without selecting System Utilities, selecting all usual options...

How to Fix the Problem [PCI Configuration Begin]

I've been trying to follow the steps in the first post but am having no luck. I also noticed some differences which I thought I'd ask about. I'm running an i5-750, MSI P55-GD65, Nvidia 9600GT, 8GB OCZ RAM. I've had a fully functional 10.6.6 but can't upgrade to 10.6.8. I've installed the...

Help debugging system hang on startup

OK, think I'm getting there now. The next step in my debugging was to try and fire up my cloned hard drive which started up without any problems - I use Carbon Copy Cloner to backup a full disk image that I can boot into and this looks to have paid dividends. I then ran a SMART check on the...

Help debugging system hang on startup

Hmmm, spoke too soon. So my system seems a lot more stable once it has booted but I'm still having trouble getting to the login screen. Is it possible that I've corrupted something used during boot? Are there any useful logs to look at when I enable verbose booting? Thanks.

Help debugging system hang on startup

OK, so for information, I managed to track this down to a memory settings issue. I got to the stage where I couldn't even login so I started pulling out two sticks of RAM. This got me back to a stable system and allowed me to investigate further. I downloaded Rember and ran memtest which...

Help debugging system hang on startup

Hi there, I've recently been experiencing some instability issues that result in two different scenarios: (i) the system fails to boot, hanging at the flash screen with the grey Apple logo; (ii) the system boots, but immediately starts to run extremely slowly, very similarly to when you run out...

Is it possible to upgrade an old BootCD install?

Regarding my sleep problem, that tool/script didn't do anything. I thought this was a common problem and that this magical SleepEnabler.kext was the solution. But all I can find are multiple threads saying, "use this one, it's the bomb!", rather than anything useful about what it is supposed to...

Is it possible to upgrade an old BootCD install?

OK, thanks for those suggestions, I'm now running 10.6.6 and ran HDA Rollback and now everything seems to be normal (aside from sleep). Here's my S/L/E directory thought for you to see if anything stands out. Cheers.

Is it possible to upgrade an old BootCD install?

I spoke too soon. I've since run the 10.6.5 update and can't get to a similar state that I can on a fresh install. The only kexts I had to install were the Audio and Network ones. I've done that multiple times now, trying to delete /Extra as well, but nothing works. I have network usage but...

Is it possible to upgrade an old BootCD install?

OK, quick update. I've managed to successfully install everything on my clone. I had to boot up using iBoot and then run Multibeast on the clone while it was booted. There is obviously a bug with the installer if you try to target a drive that you are not booting from. Thanks for the help.
