I spoke too soon. I've since run the 10.6.5 update and can't get to a similar state that I can on a fresh install. The only kexts I had to install were the Audio and Network ones. I've done that multiple times now, trying to delete /Extra as well, but nothing works. I have network usage but...

OK, quick update. I've managed to successfully install everything on my clone. I had to boot up using iBoot and then run Multibeast on the clone while it was booted. There is obviously a bug with the installer if you try to target a drive that you are not booting from. Thanks for the help.
