So I got my new ASUS H170M-Plus based Skylake machine up and running with El Capitan. There are still a few glitches but most things seem to work in general and I haven't experimented with DSDT fixes yet. This is a living post, will update as I add/test/fix additional stuff.

Would you mind posting your config.plist?
I'm still having issues with sound not working and graphics glitches.
edit: never mind, got it sorted (see my post [success] Asus H170M-Plus / i7-6700 / Intel HD-530 / Fusion Drive / El Capitan)
Thanks the_WB. I almost suspected this would work with chimera too, but I didn't bother to try it. Now I'm back :-) I actually like chimera lot better, it's just more mature.
thanks tonyd
It seems that in my case the problem was that clover would simply read the first config.plist it found. Which happened to be one I had at the root of another disk for testing. I deleted it and it's working now. Finally, SSD performance without having to mess with the directory...
I had to take a few additional steps to get it to work. Here's how I did it:
1. Carbon Copy Clone the existing boot drive (SSD in my case) to an additional disk (let's call it "Clone")
2. Move the custom DSDT.aml from chimera's /Extra to the root of Clone so that clover can find it

This is a response to a PM I got. I decided to post publicly since others might be interested.
Using Aargh-a-Knot's DSDT I never really had any issues with 10.6.8 after I simply rolled back IOPCIFamily.kext and AppleACPIPlatform.kext to the versions that were in 10.6.7. This worked only for...
I'd like to have it too. I have two versions right now. One that I used to build my mackintosh originally and the one from tonymacs database and I don't know which (if any) is the latest (2.2).
finzel and maybe others,
I had the exact same problem. Turned out my DSDT was the reason I had to rollback those kexts in the first place. So I downloaded the dsdt autopatcher to create a new DSDT.aml, put that into Extra, and now I can boot into the lion installer no problem (with plain vanilla...
Hi all
So I guess I've become a bit too confident with all the updates going smooth in the past. Now 10.6.8 has bricked my system and I didn't backup.
It doesn't seem to find the boot disk anymore ("Still waiting for root device").
Any Ideas what I can do to fix this? And why would it suddenly...
Getting the 5770 to work in 64bit is now even easier if your replace the Chameleon RC5 bootloader with Kabyl's version. No need to extract roms etc. just set GraphicsEnabler to yes and you're all set. My MSI Hawk 5770 runs beautifully in 64bits. Only tested DVI though.
