About your SSDT files. You've included SSDT-RHUB.aml. Dortania's guide says that the RHUB SSDT is only needed on ASRock and some MSI mobos. Is there some reason why you included it? How about AirDrop, Handoff, and iServices? (This one may be a stupid question.) Is there some reason why you...
Great to hear. I'm struggling with whether I should go to Monterey or not. Doing a lot of research and it doesn't seem that there are that many reasons to make the move. Are there Monterey features that you updated for? I figure Monterey will be the last Intel MacOS but Big Sur should be...
USB isn't my problem. I was hoping to reformat the EFI partition on my system drive so I could put the USB aside as an emergency backup. Any idea how to do that?
Help with EFI Partition
To upgrade my OC from 0.6.4 to 0.7.3, I created a USB with OC 0.7.3 and can successfully boot with it. When I went to copy the EFI folder to the EFI partition on the startup drive (originally OC 0.6.4), the EFI partition shows no files and there are only 64 bytes...
Unless your specs and OS are exactly like my build, my EFI folder won't do you a lot of good. I recently upgraded to OC 0.6.9 and MacOS 11.4. I've tried in the past to use other EFI Folders on my Z170M build and never had any success. When I followed Dortania's guide exactly, both systems booted...
Just checked my OpenCore EFI. I'm not using the airbrcmfixup kext and both bluetooth and WiFi are working fine. Because we have almost identical setups, here's the list of kexts I'm using:
Just noticed that IO80211High Sierra kext is still in there but it's not injected in the config. When I...
Does anyone know which antenna on the FenviT919 does which function? I have the card installed and purchased a new Macally keyboard. The computer was tucked away on the on the side of my desk, but I had to move it out so that the back of the computer and the keyboard are in line of sight...
@jzrodriguez98, it does. The original WiFi card was Atheros based and I was using an older kext from Catalina (I think). Bluetooth was a USB plugin. Did you remove any kexts that were specific to your previous WiFi card? Can you describe what's going on during boot? Is it slow or something else...
UEFI> Quirks> added DisableSecurityPolice (boolean) to disable various security measures in the firmware eliminating the possibility of having Secure Boot. It can be False. It should not be True if UEFI Secure Boot is used.
Shouldn't it be DisableSecurityPolicy?
Added a Fenvi FV-T919 WiFi and Bluetooth adapter. As advertised, AirDrop and Handoff now work. Also the Apple Trackpad and Apple Wireless Keyboard (circa 2006) can be used during boot to access the BIOS and OpenCore. @jzrodriguez98, thanks for the tip. Also...
After playing around, I learned a some additional things. In my previous install, I had a smaller SSD that contained the OS. I kept data on another SSD and pointed the home folder to the data SSD. Mail and iCloud didn't play well with that setup. I don't know if it's my setup or something in Big...
Followed the OpenCore directions exactly. (Actually one mistake because I didn't read the installation directions carefully enough. I corrected on my second try.) I am nowhere near as experienced as many who have done this. It took many hours of reading and research but was worth the effort...
