I'm a newbie to this. I'm having issues with my dual monitor set up, and I was told that I should just get a graphics card. I'm not doing anything fancy graphically, but it may very well be the easiest solution. I like easy. I'm just using this machine to multi-track music recording. I like...
I think that this is one of those situations where others will find their solution reading and seeing what others have done. I know, for me, reading through the trials and tribulations of others, helped me think it through. Thank you to you all for posting.
Well... Somehow, the village idiot snatched victory from the jaws of defeat... Usually, it's the other way around. I'm hoping maybe someone can pat me on the head, laugh behind my back and tell me how to (or point me in the right direction) on what to do with alleviating this conglomeration...
I just realized you weren't looking for the link. After choosing to boot from my drive, the Apple Shows, then that screen... I think I'm going to give up and wait until my friend is back from Cali. I'm going to have a TON of questions for him however... I like to "do for myself" and I'm sure...
I followed the below post. I'm on the computer now, but I know (or I think I know) that if I shutdown and re-boot it, I'll get the kernel panic that I've been getting since Friday afternoon. It's like clicking install in multibeast isn't overwriting something and, I think I'm saving the...
Well... I've gone through all of the install scripts. I'm about ready to chug a fifth of jack and end it all ;-) I know I don't really know what I'm doing, but cannot seem to get rid of this KP...! I keep thinking I'm doing the right things (and keep -reinstalling; thinking I'm doing it...
when you updated the kext files... Which ones? I'm going to need to do that, I think... And I apologize to EVERYONE for being so very very n00b at this... I'm trying to learn so that I know what to do the next time...
I... ... realize now (seeing the kernel panic, but a different one from on this thread because I'm a dullard and made it worse). I have to always run multibeast... I think... right? That's what I'm going to go and try now.
I'm up. SOOOoooo... if all else fails, you can alway drop back and punt. Now, knowing that I have a SERIOUS... ID10T issue with who's in charge of my computer... ... I'm going to see what I can glean from all these pages, here. That was a bit of a bummer... I do see that it's telling me...
I went the "nuclear" route and built a USB to re-install Sierra. I tried doing an upgrade to High Sierra, but that was a complete no-go with all that I tried doing before (Sort of like a bull in a china shop, I guess). I haven't done the multicast step from the install guide, but I don't think...
yeah.... I'm not sure what to do next, either, but... I'm very new to this. Today, I've just been thinking about it and just now decided to come back to it.
And I've made things worse. I'm now stepping through the High Sierra install steps in hopes that should rectify my shenanigans... I'm learning... hopefully at a quick pace.
Thank you. I really really REALLY appreciate you for posting and adding to this thread. I deleted lilu.kext and then tried (per another thread) IntelGraphicsFixup.kext as well. I'm still getting the kernel panic. I still have the kext files on my desktop, just in case. I still get the KP...
