Not beyond what's above.
It worked out of the box for me.
(That said, it's not working right now because of an NVIDIA GTX760; with the BIOS settings above, the whole system only uses 20W--25W at idle so I'm just leaving it on.)
I gave up on USB through Thunderbolt and changed to a proper Apple Bluetooth + WIFI card for Apple keyboard + mouse but no problems at all since then. Have only used occasional USB gear, though.
I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by spleen.
Thanks for your sleep confirmation.
All I did for the Thunderbolt II card are the relevant BIOS settings in my build thread and moving AppleThunderboltNHI.kext out of /System/Library/Extensions (and into storage) and then rebuilding the relevant system files by starting Kext Utility.
I'm not...
I recently added a GTX 760 card to take over the duties of my HD 4600 IGP. Everything worked out of the box even before including the IGPEnabler=No option through MultiBeast, except I have one problem.
My problem is that the machine no longer wakes from sleep. Instead the wake-up fails almost...
Yes. Mind you, I have specific needs (occasional video production and processing) and have not pushed to get everything working 100%. What I have used it for, I've been happy with.
It seems to have been equally solid with BIOS 1204 and 1304.
I can confirm that the Asus Z97-Pro board does have the CFG-lock option, that it is disabled by default, and that the MB works with the ThunderboltEX II card. I have checked with the Apple ethernet adapter and the Apple Thunderbolt Display. More details at...
There seems to be something slightly fishy about how the Z97-Pro prioritizes the graphics ports. The priority seems to be DP > HDMI > DVI. I didn't succeed with an HDMI install but I thought it could have been because it was also run through a switch (with audio splitter). I did several installs...

A quick listing of my experiences with this combo: it seems a pretty good fit, basically.
(An earlier version of this build included an Apple Thunderbolt Display through a ThunderboltEX II card connected to DisplayPort; I've abandoned this due to niggles: no-sleep, freezes, and more.)
The...
You do not appear to state in any of your postings that you've tried with IGPEnabler=No.
Anyway, if you've run MultiBeast several times, I gather you may have accrued some crud that could affect your current installation.
If the only option you see is to walk away, you may want to try the...
I've just set up an Asus Z97-Pro with HD 4600 (on an i7-4790) with
USB boot
-x IGPEnabler=No
First boot
-x IGPEnabler=No
Then MultiBeast + http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/134690-quick-fix-intel-hd-4600-graphics-acceleration-9-series-motherboards.html
Normal boot.
(Incidentally, both -v...
