    << Solved >> Asus Vivobook S510

Probably the battery is hot and drains fast because of the CPU Power Management. I still have this problem btw but I had no time to work on it. The color banding problem is much more irritating and I just cant get rid of it. If you open the dashboard and see the "nice" gradients then welcome to...

    << Solved >> Asus Vivobook S510

Nice! :) Yeah, the power management is always problem on Hackintosh. There are guides in the forum about how to implement native power management. (I cannot link right know. On a phone, and hurry. Clover is the bootloader what you are using. When you start your notebook you should see the...

    << Solved >> Asus Vivobook S510

Follow this guide. It's not mentioned in the Wiki but it does support S510. Without tweaking everything should work. Make sure that you are using the latest BIOS. Also if I remember correctly one step is missing from the guide: Extracting your DSDT with Clover F4.

Kaby Lake banding issue (tried everything)

I read all threads and tried everything but I'm just not able to solve the banding/colour depth issue. Tried the following methods but none of them helped: Spoofing Skylake graphics with Clover Device/Properties. I tried every Skylake device-id and It solved the banding but I always ended up...

[Guide] Asus Zenbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Glad to hear that! :) I did not have to use -lilubetaall, I'm not sure why you had to use it. You might be right about the bluetooth because recently I tried to send a picture via airdrop and it did not work. I'm not using BT so I thought that the kext itself fixed everything. I'll take a look...

Asus ZenBook UX510UX remaining minor issues

I updated to Catalina and so far everything is working. Catalina requires different kexts for WiFi card so I had to replace the Brcm* kexts. I attached my EFI and the necessary WiFi kexts for Catalina. Every other L/E kexts are installed from baohiep's repo. See my last message.

[Guide] Asus Zenbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch

You need to install RAM3 based kexts for the BCM and it should solve everything except the KB backlight and the USB problem. At least, according to this. USB might require injection. Since everything worked perfectly on baohiep's machine he did not include the USB port fixes. They are also...

Asus ZenBook UX510UX remaining minor issues

Sorry for the late response, I was a little bit busy and currently I'm without my computer. Are you 100% sure that you installed everything correctly? Speaker is not working issue should be independent from the ALCPlugFix. It's more likely an AppleALC issue. ALCPlugFix is only responsible for...

Asus ZenBook UX510UX remaining minor issues

The DW1560 has arrived. At first I had no WiFi so I googled a little and it turned out, that I need to tape PIN54 and PIN56 (radio disable signals) on the card (A+E key card, the original was E key only). So I taped them, and since then WiFi + BT is working properly. I'll install the system to...

Asus ZenBook UX510UX remaining minor issues

@baohiep I was playing a little bit with the ALC256 and now everything is working properly. I needed to install ALCPlugFix. At first I installed it from your repo (/src/alcplugfix/alc255) and it was working but I had problem with static noises from headset. So I tried several versions from...

Asus ZenBook UX510UX remaining minor issues

Okay, I got home and updated my BIOS from 300 (Jeeeesus -.-') to 305 and I extracted my DSDT with Clover F4. I compared the old and the new DSDT and it's full of differences. First of all ALSC, ALSL and GALS methods are no longer under WMNB but under SB.PCI0.LPCB.EC0 so the ALS started working...

Asus ZenBook UX510UX remaining minor issues

@baohiep Or Asus should provide a proper firmware which does not mess up the DSDT. 1. If I remember correctly I tested the card reader before I added the USBInjectAll and it did not work. Then after I added the UIAC patch I read this post so I tried to boot with -uia_exclude_ss but it did...

Asus ZenBook UX510UX remaining minor issues

I fixed the ALS problem but I had to patch modify my DSDT. It would be good to add the patch to the SSDT/Clover if it's possible but I have no idea how to do it. As I mentioned before according to some forums, a lot of ASUS notebook suffers from this ALS "bug" so it might be useful for other...
