Unfortunately no. If you figure this out/have already figured this out, I’d love to hear about it.

Dell 9010AIO: How to patch Whatevergreen to fix backlight control on internal display?

I'm working on Hackintoshing a Dell 9010 AIO with Opencore 0.5.9. I've upgraded the processor to an i5-3475S, so this computer has HD4000 graphics. I've been having a terrible time getting the display working correctly. I was able to fix the bad color banding I was getting by using...

    [Guide] Dell Inspiron 13 5378 (2-in-1) - MacOS 10.12.6

I've replaced my Wifi with a DW1560 for Wifi+BT. The Broadcom kexts in my EFI have both Wifi and BT working. I believe the audio chipset is the ALC225. With this install there is no patching of the HDA driver - at least, not by the user. Instead, the AppleALC kext is installed and the layout...

    [Guide] Dell Inspiron 13 5378 (2-in-1) - MacOS 10.12.6

I just set mine up with Catalina + OpenCore. It's working flawlessly for me. The only thing I have not yet set up is brightness control via the F11 and F12 keys. I also experience very slight static on the headphone jack, though audio through the speakers works fine, as well as over Bluetooth. I...

I imagine the 7000 series has more features - do you have pen support, etc with your I2C touchscreen. Out of curiosity, why do you prefer USB to I2C? For me, I don't really care - I rarely use the touchscreen, but having swipe support is a nice touch.

    [Guide] Dell Inspiron 13 5378 (2-in-1) - MacOS 10.12.6

Getting the touchscreen to work with multi touch is actually really easy - at least in my case. All I needed to do was install VoodooI2C.kext and VoodooI2CHID.kext to /L/E. After reboot I can scroll using a two finger swipe on touchscreen, and can move back and forth on webpages with a two...

OK. As I don't remember exactly what I installed, do I need to go into kextcache_log.txt and properly install all the "kext with invalid signatures"? Basically is there a trick to discerning which are the kexts that I incorrectly installed into /S/L/E that need to go into /L/E. I noticed there...

    [Guide] Dell Inspiron 13 5378 (2-in-1) - MacOS 10.12.6

I'm experiencing random reboots on this laptop. I can't pinpoint any trigger. They happen both on battery and when plugged in. It has also happened when the laptop is asleep and closed, while connected to an external display (randomly in the middle of the night). When it happens the screen goes...

Many thanks. Works perfectly. For HDMI audio, do you recommend this guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/applehda-hdmi-audio-guide.234735/ If yes, I assume you endorse the FakePCIID method first? I tried it and messed up my config.plist. I believe " ACPI/DSDT/Patches/ (change GFX0 to...

    [Guide] Dell Inspiron 13 5378 (2-in-1) - MacOS 10.12.6

Laptop seems to be working well. However, if I use it in clamshell mode with an external HDMI monitor, I can't get the screen to turn back on when opening the laptop. Also, it doesn't seem to sleep when I shut the lid, but it does manage to wake up when I open it. Any fixes come to mind for...

changed the values back to 0x0 and it seemed to work. OP is correct in saying that they persist through updates, but as one of them disables SpeedStep in windows I would not recommend changing them, esp. because less destructive alternatives exist.

Rehabman, I have a question about the BIOS edits above that I think you can answer. Do they actually apply through BIOS updates, and if so, is there an organized process to reverting them? I made the edits suggested - now I am faced with an install of Windows that overheats badly and often has...

    [Guide] Dell Inspiron 13 5378 (2-in-1) - MacOS 10.12.6

So, I followed the instructions in this guide, the laptop is working great on High Sierra. However... I reinstalled Windows 10 (clean install) and it overheats badly (on Windows only). Usually I can't do anything with it - it gets to the desktop and shuts itself off. While I'm aware that this...
