for several years I recognised the need for at least 6 cores x79 or x99 or XEON CPU for Premiere Pro and After Effects....with the advent of 8th GEN i7 Intel processors I believe that need has gone.....and you can do very well with an 8700k processor I would also state that there is not vast...

you need to make sure that you computer is LABELLED as a MAC PRO 5 in SMBIOS if you do not want to do this then you can go into the installer package by looking at PACKAGE CONTENTS and you can manually install the different packages....the installer checks that you have the correct MAC PRO...

Sleep now working with X79 system after 10.9.2 update....I used the COMBO update and as I am using VOODOO for the sound no need to update anything after the combo update just straightforward update.....clearly more of the X79 606 chipset is being implemented with this update.....

when I used npci=0x3000 with X79 Gigabyte board this disabled audio...... npci=2000 is what finally enabled me to get the AUDIO to work

AUDIO the BEST drivers!! Having spent several hours sorting out Audio for this motherboard I discovered that VoodooHDA-v2.8.4.pkg was by far the best...having installed it you will probably need to go the Voodoo panel in system preferences and increase the INPUT volume.....this is the ONLY...

It is very unlikely that you can get this laptop to run with full graphics capablity......you need to realize that going for HACKINTOSH on a laptop is a major project which is very complicated and time consuming...i have fiddled with HACKINTOSH for several years and spent countless wasted hours...
