@Edhawk, I didn't know there was a backward compatibility, thanks for that. My PSU is a Cooler Master B700 v2, 700W, so I guess it's ok. Actually, the computer wouldn't start but I can't remember the message. As I sent the GPU back, I cannot check that point. Moreover, I used the HDMI output...
@dziny I found a Gigabyte RX6600 Eagle-8GD for around $350, which I find acceptable. Sadly, it does not seem to be compatible with my motherboard. I suppose because of the PCI version (4 for the GPU, 3 for the motherboard). Anyway, I ordered a second hand GT-740 for $30, so fingers crossed :)...
@UtterDisbelief
I installed the NVIDIA drivers and had to set NVIDIA Inject in Clover options (I was expecting Multibeast to set it but I guess I missed something once again). It works fine now!
Thanks again :)
Thanks a lot @UtterDisbelief :)
And thanks for being cool with me :)
I suppose I need to re-install HS before testing the driver. I will let you know :)
Thanks again
Hi @UtterDisbelief,
I'm not sure I understand (I'm quite a noob, sorry), my graphic card is the GTX 750 Ti but I don't know much more than that. For Catalina (and I guess, the previous High Sierra installation), I only chose the NVIDIA inject option and I remember setting boot args with nvda_drv=1
Hi guys,
I need to get back to High Sierra after running Catalina on my computer. After the Multibeast step, when the computer restarts, it gets stuck on Apple progress bar. I tried to modify the Multibeast options but I am not sure I did the right thing...
Could you guys help please?
Here is...
I must be missing something : InstallAssistant.pkg generates a small "Install macOS Monterey.app" file (around 40 Mb) so I guess another step is required in order to generate the final installer, right?
Thanks for your reply, @etorix :-)
It's fine for me to install Monterey if my configuration can support it.
I'll go for a RX 6600 then :-)
Do you believe this one would be suitable?

Hi guys,
I posted a thread last year but graphic cards were so expensive, I decided to postpone my purchase.
To put it simply, I need a new graphic card for my Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 motherboard that will support 3440 x 1440 monitor resolution, for a minimum price...
I also need to update to macOS...
Hi everyone :)
First, I hope my message will not seem too stupid but I really need some help.
I recently purchased a Samsung C49RG90SSR, 5120 x 1440 monitor, and it happens to be incompatible with my current configuration, that a friend of mine built for me a few years ago. I guess I need to buy...
