but apparently, there's more to it than that. the fix is only temporary, and a permanent solution is more involved. I haven't yet got time to research it though.
Thanks for all the work, and voluntarily supporting this. I am not technically skilled. So far, I've managed to download a working SSDT from this page https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/10-11-0-10-11-3-skylake-starter-guide.179221/#DetailedUSB (mine is a GA-Z170-UD5 TH).
So, if I understand...
erm, what problems, please? And what is the long term solution for a 100 series board?
Would I have to read through the multiple dense pages of https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-10-11-usb-changes-and-solutions.173616/
Hey everyone,
This is apparently an easy fix. See this page: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/usb-new-raise-port-limit-patch-for-macos-10-12-sierra.202329/
For me, I copied the second code extract and pasted onto my config.plist as described in the page, rebooted, and everything works as magic.
I see help is available here:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-10-11-usb-changes-and-solutions.173616/
But it looks a little long and dense to wade through. Anybody know a solution ready for our boards?
Hey everyone,
I have a mysterious problem. I upgraded to sierra, after missing out a couple of instructions, and fixing things, I managed to get it running on my system.
However, after some combination of settings changes, my front panel USB3 can only function as USB2. The BIOS/Clover...
If it means anything, I have this problem too. Overnight, I thought to turn off the screen, but next morning, inevitably the system will be unresponsive--either the screen refuses to turn on, or the system just hangs, with the screen saver displaying last night's time.
Now I'm just shutting...
Hey guys, a question: When your system is fully booted up, what does the debug code on the motherboard read?
Does it even matter? Mine says '51', and I was slightly worried because the manual says memory initialisation error or something. Everything's running fine though.
anybody get sleep/reboot to work nicely yet?
With my onboard graphics, and el capitan, video out through the HDMI port to a HDMI to DVI cable, the screen does not wake up from power saver mode after sleep, and sometimes, after a OS activated restart.
me too, actually. But now I am having second thoughts about it too. I'm sort of hoping something changes for the better, as I don't use windows. Ah well.
Yeah, I think handoff (?) seems to work. After a reboot to my original installation with the BT and wifi recognised, i was asked to enter a 6 digit code on my iPhone, and now I can send and receive SMS.
Have not tried if apps can work, but i think that can wait.
And yeah, I'm also waiting...
oh. in the last hour or so, i managed to follow the instructions on post #1 to the letter, on an empty disk.
Now, the sound works... I guess it's just a PEBKAC error. Nothing to see here everyone. :silent:
