Hi guys,
A thread revival!
I stayed away from doing a hackintosh in the end but would like to give it another crack I think!
Still have the same parts so an i5 2300, can someone recommend me a motherboard that I can use with the least amount of messing around with DSDT's and so on...
I have tried to fix this error following the TonyMac guide but when I do it I get an error;
cd /Volumes/"USB"
dd if=boot1h of=/dev/disk0s2
dd: boot1h: Device not configured (HERE IS MY ERROR)
0+0 records in
0+0 records out
What is going wrong?
Thanks
Hi guys,
Currently have an i5, Asus P8H61-M and 8gb of ram I would like to turn into a hackintosh.
From what I can gather my motherboard wouldn't be compatible? I certainly haven't seen a DSDT for it!
So fellow "hackintosher's" what motherboard should I buy that will enable me to make...
I have actually been considering using the same thing but modding it to fit in the front panel of the G5.
See my thread;

I have been trying to find the dimensions but not even Bitfenix will tell me!
Could you...
That is true. However my friend has years of experience of soldering DC jacks in laptops and replacing capacitors on motherboards etc so I was going to get him to do it for me.
He certainly has the best chance. I figure by sticking some cardboard in between each point that will limit the...
I am just thinking. Would it be possible to just strip the motherboard header cable and solder it directly to the PCB? rather than stripping the cables that are already attached?
Would I have to desolder the original cables and then solder the new ones in place or can I just hold the cable on...
Thank you :)
Yeh I may as well wire it up, that way I can plug it in if I decide to.
So would I then do
Positive LED - W
Negative LED- B
Negative Power-B
Positive Power- R
Would that be correct?
The left ones but looking at it which way :p
If someone could just confirm which letters I use that would be simpler haha :)
Thanks rehpotsirhc though :)
Hi,
I have been following your thread the "A Simple G5 Case Mod" and I was just wondering if you could help me.
I am up to the stage where I now need to put in my motherboard and cut my slot for the IO.
Now, I see you mention that you should use the shorter stand offs so I was just wondering...
I have just got a G5 case and I am not too confident in chopping it all up straight away so I am thinking of following your guide to get me started :)
I have a few questions, the stand offs that you have used. Did you buy them? if so where from! :D
Secondly, once the stand offs are in...
