I was able to update my Comet Lake system to 13.5.1 smoothly, but only by manually installing the Ventura installer from the App Store. (System Settings incorrectly reported that my Mac was up to date).
Thanks! Just donated. They are doing a great service for Hackintoshers and owners of older Apple hardware AND the environment. Open Source Collective is a 501(c)(3) (non-profit organization in the USA). Very cool!
I just built a new machine to run Ventura and I am really relieved I will get at...
@afuera I modified your EFI (generated my own SMBios, added the necessary boot arg for my GPU, used the iMac 20,1 system definition to account for the CPU I am using), but I am getting a kernel panic on the installer USB. According to the OpenCore Sanity Check, the things that are wrong in my...
I finally got around to ordering the parts (I had to try SIX different vendors in Hong Kong before I was able to find a place that actually had this motherboard in stock, five of them cancelled my order). I'm currently installing Windows and plan to start on MacOS tomorrow. I have a very similar...
I read “in the pipeline” as “under development” or “under consideration.” Not “definitely to be released.” He was hedging. Supporting Intel Macs for “years” is sufficiently vague that it could mean almost anything. They already have supported Intel Macs for years and Sonoma is not out yet.

Just in the last few weeks, I had noticed that my Internal Speaker audio output was distorting on Catalina. This had never been an issue before (my primary Hackintosh is a Gigabyte GA-Z270N-Wifi motherboard with ALC 1220 audio). I just booted my backup drive which is still running the previous...
This is almost exactly my hardware, but I haven't been able to get Big Sur working at all. (I have a fully functioning Catalina installation with a genuine Mac wifi card.) Would you be willing to share your EFI folder?
Philiasso, I am thinking about getting an MSI Z490 Tomahawk and using the EFI you shared to create my next (and probably my last?) Hackintosh. I’ve never been able to figure out how to get Big Sur or Monterey to work with my current hardware.
Do you have any advice to offer? Have you had much...
@bmoag I too wish to move from Catalina to Monterey (or Big Sur) and have similar hardware to @kyury:
Core i7-7700
Gigabyte Z270-Wifi (replaced the wifi and have native Bluetooth/Wifi support)
Kingston A400 M.2 SATA SSD
Radeon RX 570 graphics.
I have a (as far as I can tell) completely...
Can anyone confirm that the only way to run the much-hyped Catalyst apps is to install 10.15? If not, I'd rather not give up 32-bit compatibility just yet.
