I have a new idea. I'm probably one of the rare people that is using toslink for audio. Is it possible that I have a conflict with the card? I just noticed that my audio (Realtek 892) doesn't seem to be working with this new card installed.

Ok I was using Windows 8 tonight and the video card crashed on a flash video. In the bottom right corner there was an error saying the nvidia kernel crashed and had to be recovered. So, I'm returning it and ordering the EVGA GT 640 recommended on the customac page. Fingers crossed.
