[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

That's pretty safe, can try to go 1050 mV on both core voltages. Mem voltage should be same as P7. Mem clock should be safe at 900 MHz even on Hynix memory – that's why it's good to install Windows or at least install GPU into Windows PC and check memory manufacturer via GPU-Z from Techpowerup...

[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

Core voltage P6 and P7 and also mem voltage. Mem frequency at P7 to 935 MHz. But don't do it if you don't know what you are doing. Your numbers may (and WILL) vary, it all depends on how lucky you have been with GPU you got. Some might not be able to undervolt so well, you can have Hynix memory...

[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

70 °C is absolutely fine! All GPUs these days start to throttle at 85 °C. Target temperature doesn't mean that it's the temperature where it should stay no matter what, but where fans start to spin. So at 50 °C your fans gradually go from 0 (turned off) to full as needed, depending on...

[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

Idle: 400 (as your gpu can work fanless), target temp: 50 °C, tdc 25 % (for lower consumption while still undrevoltable and memory overclock). Leave other settings at stock, only change voltage and memory frequency if you want and how much sillicon lottery allows to you. Fans going up for a...

OpenGL games – no video after quit when CSM disabled

Ok, when I checked "Open in Low Resolution" and "Prevent App Nap" in Get Info panel of Tropico, I still can't quit game via menu, but at least I can switch back to Finder and quit it via Dock. At least something. Same for CS:Go. Obviously, with CSM disabled. I can live with that. Seems like...

OpenGL games – no video after quit when CSM disabled

Well, Valley works fine even with CSM disabled. Tropico and CS:Go are both Steam based and those games are made for macOs with some compatibility layer library like some Wine spin off. Might that be problem? Investigating.

OpenGL games – no video after quit when CSM disabled

AFAIK you have reference card so it might work… I have reflashed BIOS with Sapphire Nitro one but that shouldn't matter, it's same **** from different vendor. And under Windows it works just fine regardless of CSM settings.

OpenGL games – no video after quit when CSM disabled

Yes, when I run them in full screen. Seems like monitor is not able to get proper signal without CSM. Funny enough RX 480 worked just fine, even with CSM enabled I got correct resolution under same conditions. Well guess if there is no solution I would have to accept the stretched screen in...

OpenGL games – no video after quit when CSM disabled

Hi guys, my Hackintosh is working great for more than a 1.5 year. Anyway, some time ago I have switched from RX 480 to Vega 56. It works great with VGTab fix, but I had to disable CSM as I was having notorious stretched screen on Clover boot. But that is the problem, as I have noticed lately...

[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

Try Idle at 400. With this speed voltage is too low to allow fans to spin. On my Powercolor Red Dragon Vega 56 flashed with Nitro+ BIOS (but that probably wasn't needed) fans are off until needed. Change target temp to 50 °C. As for control of fans via VGTab on after market cooling of Vegas –...

    Radeon VII

We have to wait for drivers or at least framebuffer mod. And drivers will probably come in 10.14.5 as 10.14.4 is already in beta without any hint of drivers.

[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

yes I’m aware of that, Jay. I was curious if it can be handled. Red Dragon is custom cooling solution with 3 fans just like Red Devil, Asus Strix or Sapphire Nitro Vegas are. What’s interesting is that it works - once I set up target temp to 50 °C fans start and stop properly. A reference card...

[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

So I came to conclusion (after many restarts, failures etc): soft power tables are definitely shared with Windows. Once you make your setting ie. in Wattman overclocking, undervolting etc. remains the same. So if you are dual booting, the only thing to fix is fans. So I just set up 400 RPM at...

[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

Yes, it works for sure. What doesn’t seem to work is to keep target temp. I’ve set it up to 60 °C but fans start slowly (and accelerating) somewhere at 70 °C so then it’s really impossible to get down with temperature below 80 °C as I have max RPM set to 2000. Will have to start with lower...

[GUIDE] Injection of AMD Vega Power and Fan Control Properties

Well, so Vega 56 (Powercolor Red Dragon) arrived today. After a bit of trial and error I managed to get Power tables and fan reduction working via VGTab. I had to copy data from info.plist of kext into config.plist as neither generated table data in hex inserted into config.plist or generated...
