We've been running an i7-6700k for the last 13 3 years on our studio rig. No issues here.
Only reason we're considering the 9700k/9900k route is for 4K video-editing and future proofing a bit.
Just had to go through the Thunderbolt installation and update process in Windows first - which is outlined elsewhere on the site in a general Thunderbolt guide. If I can remember the thread I'll link it.

I haven't experienced any issues with my ASUS GTX 1060 6GB. Runs 4K @ 60hz no problem over DP.
I'll definitely keep an eye on the thread, and see if I can assist in some fashion.

Awaiting NVIDIA web drivers to update Hackintosh.
Edit: Updated once the NVIDIA driver became available. No issues during installation and reboot process(es). Apollo Twin interface is working fine. Good deal.
