Seeking Help: Lost audio after ~1yr of happy hackintoshing, can't get it back.

Nothing worked; I'm too nub to be bothered with solving this problem—salting the fields, reinstalling. Thanks for the offered help.

Seeking Help: Lost audio after ~1yr of happy hackintoshing, can't get it back.

Thanks so much for this, I'll try these solutions and possibly indeed just spring for the external card. Hope this works else I'm perhaps going to just salt the fields and reinstall Mavericks (or upgrade to Yosemite, but, ick :|). Will post result either way.

Confirmed Audio Interfaces (Hobbyist/Pro-sumer/Pro) & Drivers - Mac OS X

Nice, that's within my budget—good to know there's something I can move to if needed! :)

Confirmed Audio Interfaces (Hobbyist/Pro-sumer/Pro) & Drivers - Mac OS X

I've noticed that the Delta 66 from M-Audio is confirmed to work... does anyone know if the Delta 44 will work (I happen to have one from years ago and am in the process of building my new machine)? I'm curious if this confirmed to *not work* or if it's simply no confirmed *to* work yet.

Hey thanks so much—I wasn't aware of either the resource you linked *or* that there was a music forum! Major help, I appreciate it. :)

Advice on pro-am audio I/O gear for new Hackintosh

Sup sup Tonymac community? I'm a web-developer & a classic mac-user; I like to make things pretty and I used to ignore implementation. I'm on Hackintosh #3; I was awful at it, I'm getting better. For my last machine, I'd bought a FireWire Solo...

Hardware Nub Seeking Advice On New Hardware Choices & Expected UX

Well, purchase-day is just around the corner, next week, so this help is huge—I was definitely going to make some poor choices! Sleep and power management never worked on the rig I currently have, and as the server I run is indeed private—just for myself or for clients to sample work in...

    What—*not how*—to edit in a DSDT.aml file & where to learn it

OIC. So, if I understand you: I've only had chance to skim the outlines of the APICA documentation, so I'm only marginally less informed now than above, but: you mention things like "mapping unsupported device IDs onto supported ones"—understanding, deeply, the APCICA documentation should...

    What—*not how*—to edit in a DSDT.aml file & where to learn it

Hi. I know next to nothing about hardware, but I'm coming up on my third Hackintosh (I've been using nothing but for... 5 or 6 years). Every time I try to get a little more competent at the process. I write Python, PHP, Javascript, etc. (web developer ftw); so the editing part doesn't alarm...

Hardware Nub Seeking Advice On New Hardware Choices & Expected UX

Man I really do appreciate your obviously informed input here, thanks for it. You're also just a touch over my head, though I'm starting to follow. For real, I don't know a thing about hardware, I got into hackintoshing primarily because I design/develop (web!)/game, refuse to not be a mac user...

Hardware Nub Seeking Advice On New Hardware Choices & Expected UX

Terribly concerned I'm about to embarrass myself, but... which Haswell hardware? I don't see that I have any listed, though I presume you're referring to one of the mobo's I picked out. Sorry, I really am bad at hardware; I'm a designer, we're a helpless lot. ;)
